The "modern day liberal perspective" is largley one of expanded government powers, something your hero Hamilton was quite comfortable with....
The history was represented from a modern day liberal perspective... (Tom Hanks)...

For the real scoop on Alexander Hamilton, read the Ron Chernow book. This miniseries was far too kind to Adams, and totally misrepresented Hamilton.
Just finished the DVD set...OUTSTANDING!!
Does anyone know who that actor is who played King George? What a scene THAT was!!
Wonderful show. But it's odd that I find myself ten times more facinated in and wanting to find out more about George Washington because of this (and David Morse's performance).
Fantastic miniseries, possibly the best I have ever watched. The acting by everyone was superb, especially Paul Giamatti who portrayed Adams like he really was and was definitely not miscast. The only complaint I have is that the story wasn't spread out over more episodes. This was tv at its absolute best; it should win multiple emmy awards.
Although the TV script contained a few minor historical inaccuracies, the show never jumped the shark. The acting was excellent, the history was very good, and the portrayal of characters, especially the relationship between John and Abagail, was realistic. The greatest difficulty was the brevity with which the story had to be told. Adams lived fifty-five very active years in the public eye (from the Boston Massacre to his death), and a nine-hour miniseries is not enough to fully capture these years.
Fantastic show. It has revived my interest in Revolutionary-era America. I'll have to wait until it's over to decide if it had a jump the shark moment. But since it's a miniseries that has a clear ending in sight -- making it less like "Sopranos" and more like "Rome" -- I doubt it will jump the shark at all.
Ditto 4 the first post, plus I saw the first 1 and a half eps, most of one was in a courtroom, the second was walking and talking ala Left Wing,,too dull for me!
Paul Giamatti as John Adams is a miscast as Joe Mantegna as Dean Martin in the Rat Pack movie
