First off you people that are talking about these super back ground checks are thinking about it in terms of the CSI TV show checks. That is not how this would work. First off when a person gets arrested they are fingerprinted on two cards one for the jail's records and one goes to NCIC. When anyone joins the military, police department, corrections, works for the government or gets arrested there fingerprints get sent to this NCIC system. So what this show is saying is that the first copy of the fingerprints where distroyed in New Orleans which is possible and now there is one copy stuck in a system with millions of others. Then This guy got a identity from I beileve Ohio (which happens everyday) joins the military and now his new Identity has it's first set of fingerprints on file. He joins the military at a time when they would take anyone with a pulse and probably didn't look very hard into his background and becomes a war hero. He then trys to join a police agency which is hurting badly for personel, they looked at his record and would have hired him on the spot. They would have sent his name through NCIC and found his fingerprints for his stolen Identity they would not have crossmatched the findings with the other millions upon millions of cards because unlike CSI it would take months to do. In some cases the fingerprints would be in the computer system but that is not likely to have happend because it is very backlogged and lets face it the guy is now supposed to be dead. So this is all very possible when you look at how the system works now I just wonder why is it when anybody so far on this web site mentions it they have to say the "white" Cop is that really that big of a deal that it is the "White" Cop that is the criminal.

I thought that this was a good show maybe not great but I thought that it deserved a chance. I hope it comes back but seeing that one of the cops is now on law and order I don't find it that likely
I was hoping K-Ville would be a more realistic cop show rather than a supercharged "Miami Vice" style shoot-em-up.
love the show . Lets hope FOX gives thisshow a chance . yes there is some flaws in this show bet I hope they bring it back . FOX has already repalced the time slot with the Termaintor Chroncles . UGH !!! If they do bring K Ville back into production lets hope they donot give the show the same treatment that NBC gave Crime Story .
Unless you have actually lived in New Orleans or NOLA as many of us call it you will never understand the way things actually do work in my hometown. After the levees gave way none of us were really that shocked. The corruption has long been documented both in the history books and in film and books.Substandard materials used to stay within budget for a city we always knew was going to get it again and again. As for records being lost it is true, so my answer is YES a convict could have been hired by the NOPD, heck it's not like they have had the best record themselves having been dubbed The Most Corrupt Police Department in the Country at least 15 times in my 45 years.Y'all don't want to know what it feels like driving through your neighborhood and seing your Nana's home and your parents home gutted or with weeds as tall as the gates 2 years later. And I'm talking in The Garden District and another in The Quarter being treated because of the looters who broke in looking for anything they could find, trashing your family heirlooms and trucking all of that toxic waste through it.So this show is really showing how things look in my hometown.Oh and why don't you good folks watch Jericho for survival tips because if the US Government can leave my city for dead the way they have, tell me whats going to happen when it's your city?.Huh you really think Uncle Sams going to fix it while we are losing ground to the ocean which will take out New York City who lost critical data because the command center was in the World Trade Center. How well Washington & their Senator who claimed she was shopping for boots adjacent to the WTC with her daughter Chelsea when the attack happened.Gee I thought former White House Residents had Secret Service protection for life, hmm my mistake. So many cities could be destroyed by mother nature, terrorism or a random accident and your as$e$ are not covered. Most of what they have shown in K*Ville is happening. Why just 20 minutes outside of New Orleans they had their first Black & White Senior Prom where instead of the Black Prom & White Prom where mixed couples were strongly discouraged from even considering trying to enter.Let this show the good things about the heritage of NOLA in this show as they already have by showing the strong sense of community and watching out for your neighbors in all the wards. And FYI It just so happens I am from one of those Uptown White Families of Wealth with deep New Orleans roots going back 200 years.
Its been said before, but the white cop being a convicted felon was the death blow to the show. As soon as this fact was revealed the show jumped the shark - ON THE FIRST EPISODE!

The most important part of a buddy cop premise is that the two cops are equal and opposite. Since one cop knows a dark secret about the other (hes a criminal) that gives Anthony Anderson a clear advantage and thus the whole premise of buddy cop is thrown out the window.

And yes, it just doesn't wash. Fingerprinting and ID checking would foil that guy in a minute....
OK, OK I get it. Rich white people are evil.
What else is on?
Jumped the shark on day one when one of the New Orleans supercops turns out to be an escaped convict.

Ridiculous.
Disagree. This COULD be the best show since The Sopranos. Give it a shot!
Anthony Anderson is a terrific comedian, but an action hero? Sorry I just don't buy it. I think this show might have had a chance if FOX had cast a believable actor for the main character.
WARNING: SPOILER ALERT:

Why did this show "jump the shark"?

You have disjointed scenes in which the cops are being shot at by sources unknown who take off, and then the following scene shows the cops right on the bad guy's tail.

You have the white cop turn out to be a convicted felon who snuck out of jail during the flood, bettered himself via joining the army, becoming a ranger (a commando), and eventually a policeman. In these days of multiple background and ultrasophisticated I.D. checks, that just doesn't wash.

The premise was good, but theory did not hold up to reality.

Ah well, at least the Cajun cooking looks good!
