Will they ever, ever release this show on DVD here in the US? I know the musical-rights situation is something from Alice In Wonderland, but why not a non-musical highlights compilation?
Just to add to an earlier comment:

The original series, on ITV from 1978 to 1981, was called the Kenny Everett ***** Show, with the final ITV series retitled the Kenny Everett ***** Cassette. All of these series were produced by Thames Television, and there was no studio audience - the laughter was that of the writers, technicians and studio crew.

The later BBC series was called the Kenny Everett Television Show and this ran on from Christmas 1981 through to 1988. Unlike the Thames series, these did use a studio audience.
Kenny was one of the funniest people on TV (and radio before) in his time. He was also a great Tory rabble rouser! I was at the Young Conservative rally at Wembley in 1983; 'Lets bomb Russia!' he exclaimed as he came on stage with those giant 'praise the Lord' hands. I and everybody else cheered to the rafters before Maggie came on!
And like the old Soupy Sales Show, there was no laugh track or studio audience...he played to the crew members. I loved his characters...Sid Snot, Cupid Stunt, and my favorite segment, Billy the Dancing Bucket.
I watched this show in New York in the early 80s when it was called the Kenny Everett ***** Show. It was the only show at all besides Uncle Floyd from New Jersey that ever had any alternative (then called "new wave" or "punk") bands or videos on. I had no idea Everett was a deejay until a couple of months ago when a friend of mine played me a tape of the Beatles singing a song about him to him on his old British radio show in the 1960s. So he was around for a long time and exhibited good taste throughout as far as I know.
WOW, I can't believe anyone remembers this show. Way ahead of it's time.
Whereas Morcambe and Wise and the Goodies went from BBC to ITV and went downhill, Kenny Everett went from ITV to BBC and got better. Unfortunately when he got to the last series, Kenny Everett wanted to do a sitcom, but the Beeb (as Kenny was the first person to call the BBC) wanted him to do more sketch shows. But the sketch show format had got stale and they should have let him do the sitcom instead
I am hard pressed to find anyone else who saw this great show while it was syndicated in the states. Hot Gossip dancing to "Hot Child in the City" was almost too much for an adolescent boy to deal with. And I spent my entire college career trying to do the cigarette fling trick with Mr. Everett's cool expertise. Great pioneering television!
Kenny Everett jump the shark? Never! That hyper little guy who looked like Clinton Treasury Secretary Robert Reich would always make me laugh, whatever he did! He was so clever, I wish I could have gotten more of him!
"Captain Kremmen" aka "Kremmen of the Star Corps" was one of the funniest, most subversive pieces of british TV animation ever produced (not to take anything away from Terry Gilliam's Monty Python segments, of course), and I feel the show lost its edge after they stopped producing that segment.
Please note that The Kenny Everett Show was actually broadcast on ITV from 1978 to 1982. He then took the show and renamed it to The Kenny Everett ***** Show to the BBC from 1982 until 1988. Both shows kept their edge and it was Kenny's own decision to give it up and concentrate on radio before the TV show got stale.
Never did... While it didn't air for very long here in North America, he'd been going for a while in the UK. This guy made The Benny Hill Show look like a televised Sunday Mass. Have Cliff Richard on as a guest a few times!
