Craig surpasses the other late night talk shows with such ease that it amazes me. Almost always funny and fresh, and what makes it so enjoyable to watch is that you can tell he's having fun with you. He can use the same joke over and over, and get away with it still being hysterical as the last time. Of course, he has his (rare) off days - this week, for example, something seems to be bugging him - but he'll almost always warn us before hand.

The only thing I think he could improve on is to not cut the interviews off so quickly - sometimes it seems to be in the middle of a conversation, and you can tell the person being interviewed is as shocked as you. But, all and all, he's very far from jumping the shark.
The only thing worse than Craig is the horrible theme music. (I use the word "music" loosely here.) That music makes me physically ill.
I absolutely love Craig, never get sick of him. His jokes are so original, and I love how he never jumps on the popular bandwagons. (I adored his entire monologue about why Britney Spears needs a break while every other comedian on the planet was making "Britney beat up a car with an umbrella" jokes) I do feel that he's seemed a little forced lately, and it looks like there have been certain limits put on the show? I miss his sound effects, and it seems as though he does too...
Interesting that Craig made a brief comedic mention on Th 5/8's show at the start of the second segment (or what was formerly the segment where Craig used the sound effects). "We no longer do the sound effects because it's not environmentally friendly" or something to that effect before moving on.

Oh well, RIP sound effects. It was a great bit while it lasted.

I guess it's been replaced by the daily email segment. Its good, but you can tell that Craig does not seem to want to do it on some nights.
Where are the sound effects???They've been gone since the thing in Washington last weekend. This stinks, his sounds kill me!
I adore Craig but I agree the show itself has gone off in a bad direction. It was Craig-commericial--Craig--commercial--Craig--commercial for 37 FULL minutes before Hugh Laurie came on. And, after Hugh, just one other guest. Is this a cost cutting measure by CBS? Did the suits say "Just have Craig chat mindlessly on--no need for writers--and then have only two--cheaper than three--guests." Yeah, Craig is brilliant but he needs to go back to the old format. Monologue, sketch, then three guests.
Interesting assessment...

I think it has something to do with Craig now passing Conan in ratings. If what Craig is doing at the time overtakes Conan in viewership numbers, then hey - don't change the formula and keep doing the same. It kept Conan afloat in the ratings for years and years.
The show has become almost unwatchable!. It happened gradually and I don't know if it was Craig's fault or the show's producers.

Too many commerecial breaks. This show has 3 to O'briens 1. There's a break every 3-4 minutes.

Creativity lost . . .when he first came on it was a good 20 minutes of funny creative thoughtful monolog. Not it's 6-7 minutes of wierd antics, off color jokes, and not too subtle referneces to his sexual ambiguity; is he gay or isn't he ??

Whose fault? I'm guessing the networks. I sensne that Ferguson resents the restrictions placed on him and the hoops he has to jump through and it shows in his demeanor.

Sometimes one wonder if he fell off the wagon.

I bet he'll jump ship before this fall. Too bad to see such a creative talent get flushed the way he has been.
Craig Ferguson is brilliant, witty, he can be hilariously self-deprecating while at the same time you *know* the guy has more intelligence than all talk show hosts put together. He even makes the silly sound effects fresh. And you just know his guests are having a ball and loving Craig too! I think the show is in re-runs this week (March 10th...) but it will give folks a chance to see some of his best work - especially his gig with the Wicked Tinkers! I never miss an episode. Wish his monolog was longer.
Dave, Jay, and Conan can do the same recuring joke every day and it becomes boring after the 3rd try.

Fergeson on the other hand can do a recurring joke (the sound effects on the second segment) and make it a fresh segment and still make it funny day after day after day. I'm surprised that Fergeson can do the email segment daily, unlike Dave, whose weekly email segment just falls flat.
Have only recently discovered Craig, and now am totally hooked! He is wonderful, the very best. Even though I can DVR the show every night(and I do)I still stay up almost nightly to see him. Thank you Letterman and CBS!!
I miss Craig SO much. Brilliant, beautiful man. He puts his interviewees at ease and you can tell they're having a ball - even the hard to interview, reticent ones. I heard he'll be coming back early January. Great news! I even miss the cute little Royal Guard. LOL!
Craig Ferguson is simply unfunny. I still miss Kilborn and his smartass 'tude. He supposedly went on to do movies. He jumped his OWN shark by leaving the show. Dumbass!
Craig is the funniest man I have ever seen. He is a genious and so witty. His guests say to his face how funny he is. He is brilliant, hialrious and sooo cute. I love his Prince Charles.. and how he trys to crack the guard up. His monolouges are brilliant!! He is constantly funny and I sit alone laughing out loud through the whole show. He is the best!! Can't believe that he wasn't nominated for an Emmy. Don't those people know about him???
Wish the next season was cancelled too.
Takes 25 "writers" to come up with Bush lied. Yuk. Fire all the greedy, untalented, unionized joke recyclers.
