It may not have a very realistic premise, but is a good show that blows all that "reality-based" programming into the weeds...but face it: they're not going to let a convicted felon (exonerated or otherwise) on ANY police force ANYWHERE...Nevertheless, it's still entertaining television, despite the flawed premise. And now that he has caught the killer that committed the crime for which he was accused, does the show have anywhere to go after that? Time will tell..
One of the best new shows of the season. Damien Lewis portrays the wrongfully accuse Charlie Crews perfectly. I still don't get why people keep comparing him to House. He is the complete opposite from House. But still a good show.
Interesting show. Cop dramas..I am tired of them. This one has a truly great sub-plot, though. If I was a police chief (mercifully, the world is spared of that)I would do anything to prevent a fired and and imprisoned cop from returning to the force. However it is believeable that legally they could be compelled to re-hire. The character is actively persuing the cops who framed him. That could get you killed when dealing with scared or hacked-off cops! This is where the prison experience could come in very handy as a crucial survival tool. His very flawed partner also adds interest. If the mystery is solved, though, it becomes just another cop show. The best line was when asked "Why aren't you on a beach somewhere with all the money?" Answer: (The actor is a redhead) "Do I look like I would tan?" This show will never explore the weird place cops have in society like "Boomtown" did, but it is scratching the surface. It at least takes a snapshot of the netherworld of betrayal, something most of us have experienced, if not quite on such a spectacular level.
It is jumping the shark right now. I like the acting and the concept is funny but EVERY cop, except his partner, (and at this rate she will be soon) is crooked. Hmmm, seem too neo-hollywood to me.
Best show this season. I love it.
My whole family loves the show, but this week's episode about the IRS guy with two wives was so full of plot holes that it overshadowed the rest. Would the dead husband's upper torso still be standing after his bottom half was blown away? What, no burn marks or damage in the rest of the kitchen? Why wouldn't a DETECTIVE know that the first thing you do when under suspicion is to REMOVE incriminating evidence from your home, not hang up a picture of the dead guy. Would he and his partner really run from the storage garage, leaving the trip wire and bomb for some hapless soul to trigger?

However, the acting, the dialogue, the characters, the story arc ... all these qualities make the show one of our must-see's.
This show is neat, like a three-legged puppy that still outruns all the other little dogs. It'll be interesting to see how the show works once it has grown up a bit. I'm rooting for it...
FYI

The expression "jump the shark" applies to those shows that stay on the air too long.
Look at the last season of "Mad about You" as a prime example. It's when a show doesn't know it's stale and no one is really interested in the characters.

So "Life" doesn't qualify. If it were cancelled, and I really hope it is not, it would just be considered to have been cancelled.

I love Damien and his character; sardonic humor and tension. The partner needs to lighten up a bit; she getting really annoying.
I hope the attorney will continue to be part of the show as time goes on. She was/is a great character. Wish the main character could grow out his hair, put on some weight, and work out. Pretty good. Hope it gets better as it tweaks it out.
I love this show! I'll agree - it's needed its tweaks & still needs them - but, it HAS been improving with each new episode & it's got a hell of a lot of potential. Damian Lewis always picks great projects & he's one of those actors who just hasn't gotten enough credit or exposure for his wonderful work. I love the mix he portrays in his character between soft-spoken and kick-ass intense. I think he was given a very difficult, quirky role, here, and one of the things that keeps me tuned in is to see just what new "tweaks" Lewis will have made to his Crews. Plus, the chemistry between he and his on-screen partner, Sarah Shahi, is extremely palpable. I have no doubt those two will wind up together. I also look forward to learning new clues, each week, towards who set Crews up for the crime he didn't commit. I think NBC has done a great job updating their "Life" website each week with new clues on the "Conspiracy Board". It keeps the forum members abuzz. So, obviously, I do not think "Life" has jumped the shark, and I hope more viewers will give it a chance while it continues to go through it's tweaks. Happy viewing, people!
this shows sucks, the concept is lame, and the actors are pitiful.
Poor use of a great actor. Hope it tanks so he can get on to better projects. the zen thing is so contrived and the partner-chick is just annoying.
Captain Winters can do no wrong. Every moment he is on screen, I am enraptured. What's the show about again?
Life is one of the greatest new shows of the fall season. Damian Lewis(Charlie Crews) is one of the greatest actors of our generation. Don't believe me? Go watch Keane, Band of Brothers, The Forsyte Saga, Coldits, Chromophobia, of one of his other amazing characters and you'll see what I mean. The content of the show itself is really great and if it gets good ratings I can see it going far.
Good show, amazing he saw all that cash at all and so quickly. The main character has a bit of an a..hole air about him(sorry...)and I don't know why.The shows title is insipid.A cereal? Why not call it "Lucky Charms"or at least "Mini Wheats".That would narrow down the subject of the show a little.I heard that our hero will join the ranks of TV's great detectives.I' would not be so sure.
