Hell No this show did not jump the shark I thought the show was really funny. However a shwo with that kind of plot line could never last that long because it will get boring. Overall I love the show and still watch the reruns on BET.
I actually think M&E jts when it got cancelled. I think the show got better when that rival club owner smashed the bar. It was an interesting storyline. I actually forgot what happenend. A car or something crashed into the bar. Anyways for those who seem to mistake this show as Malcolm Jamal Warner's your wrong. This was a vehicle for Eddie Griffin. Just as Martin was for Martin Lawrence and Home Improvement was Tim Allen's vehicle.
There was a Malcolm and Eddie marathon on BET last Saturday. I hope this classic series is now included in their "regular" lineup.
HEY I LOVE MALCOLM & EDDIE SHOW IS FUNNY THEY SHOULD BRING OUT THE DVD IM TRYING TO FIND IT I WANT TO BUY ALL SEASONS TO THIS SHOW.
malcom and eddie is a very good show, there is a good balance between the two.
I agree- Eddie was ten times funnier than Malcolm on this show. (For me, his legacy will be "Undercover Brother" and a good performance in the first "Deuce Bigalow". His performance in the second one seemed mailed in. Malcolm had one good guest spot on "The Fresh Prince" as a lawyer that dated Hilary.) Anyway, this show gave us at least two hilarious moments- when Eddie added words to the "Sanford and Son" theme, I literally couldn't stop laughing for five minutes. The other thing I would wait for on this show would be one of Eddie's impressions of Sammy Davis Jr. At least this show was funnier than "Homeboys from Outer Space". I'd drop $20 on a complete series DVD just for the memories.
The writing for this show was awful. Then they had the nerve to use a feeble Richard Pryor in an episode. I love Richard but he looked like he was about drop dead at any momemt
Sadly, MALCOLM AND EDDIE jumped from day one, not because Malcolm Jamal Warner was still Theo Huxtable in the eyes of America, but because he had absolutely no chemistry with co-star Eddie Griffin, who blew Malcolm off the screen on a regular basis, not a good thing for a buddy comedy where the actors' real names are the title of the show.
Malcolm & Eddie was a good show overall. It was very entertaining to watch when it went on syndication. I came home after school everyday to watch this program. It had a good start, but then it kinda JTS when Malcolm & Eddie changed their sports bar into a jazz club aka "50/50 Club". It was more of an adult audienced show. Most of the episodes were mainly about money and business. The comedy of those episodes weren't all that. Don't get me wrong it didn't become a totally bad show, but it could've been better.
What were the neon blue uniforms about? This show was about two supposedly "together" black guys. Why then did they choose such dorky looking outfits for the club employees?
This show will jump the shark, if they ever cancel it. Not even one day before that date.
Memo to Malcom-Jamal Warner: just be glad nobody'll ever forget the Cosby Show.
Theo Huxtable will always be Theo Huxtable.
