whatever happened to nash's sister? she just seemed to dissappear
Never jumped.

I loved the main four - Nash, Joe, Evan and Harvey. I even quite liked Nick. I didn't mind when Nash started to blow up like a balloon and I spent episodes wondering what the hell was under those vests and snazzy jackets. I didn't mind the car or the unbelievable apartment or cop headquarters.

what got me was all the cheesy women - especially his sulky squeeze of a daughter (the yuck factor of imagining Nash boinking his onscreen daughter is way up there) and yasmine Bleeth who was totally out of place. The first love scene between Nash and Caitlin actually made me queasy. It was the least chemistry and the worst kiss every plus he kept all his clothes on while she pranced around in her lacies. Puhleese.

Still though, I like the show. I have watched all six series several times.
Where the heck was Valerie Bertinelli when the producers of Nash Bridges needed her instead of Yasmine Bleeth for the role of Caitlin? This would have been a great rehab assignment for Ms. Bertinelli, who was having trouble finding herself in her post-"One Day at a Time" period, as she would explain in her autobiography. She would have had a better role in Nash Bridges and may have made that series last longer than she could have ever done for fellow CBS drama Touched By An Angel. As it is, Yasmine Bleeth's fifteen seconds of fame, primarily as "The Baywatch Babe", are now shrouded in obscurity while Valerie Bertinelli is reaping the success of her book and may have a plum TV series role forthcoming.
Not to be vulgar, but, this show jumped when Don started thinking with his johnson. He had the hots, in real-life, for the actress who played Cassidy. She was dating Evan, in real-life. The character of Evan goes into a downward spiral and is killed. Everyone on the boards in those days was begging for Evan to get better and be back to the old Evan, but, Don Johnson ignored the fans and killed off the character. Then the character of Cassidy gets an amped up storyline. He ruined his own show out of lust, jealousy, and spite. A lot of good actors lost steady work. The characters they created are still missed.
when kaitlen became a cop...the show was over....but enuff about that...can you believe the car was a fake!!!!..it was a 1970 barricuda with a 440 and a fake shaker..but it's ok i still drool over it
THE SHOW WAS KICK AZZ. NEVER JUMPED AND THATS THE BOTTON LINE CUZZ STONE COLD SAID SO. W H A T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When Cassidy jumped from the academy to the SIU squad room...It jumped over seven sharks! Talk about a bratty in-your-face kid!
It didn't jump but it had a huge shark sighting when Caitlin came. This is the SECOND time a woman named Caitlin has been shark bait for one of Don Johnson's shows. On Miami Vice they also paired him with a Caitlin, played by Sheena Easton. Don Johnson character-paired with a Caitlin=Jaws.
Never jumped! Nothing could have made it jump! Don Johnson, when he is 85, will still be 10 times as gorgeous as most of the men in their 20's on the planet.
~Never jumped.. came close on a few occasions but storylines were always strong
When I found out that Sonny was boinking the girl who was playing his daughter on the show. Yep. That was it for me.
When Evan lost a testicle, turned into a drunk, found God and then got shot dead in about the space of 15 or so episodes. That's some record! But that was so closed to 'the end' it didn't really matter.
Never jumped, but it came close with Yasmine Bleeth. I watch serials because I like the characters and have no problem forgiving continuity problems or the occasional nonsense (like driving my dream car around SF every day). Caitlin was an interesting character, definitely eye candy for most guys, sharp as a tack, dangerous as hell, and should have been given space on maybe three shows in a row or a half dozen spread over a year or two.

I missed a few of the early characters (A.J., Bryn, Michelle), but what they did to Evan was painful. Like Caitlin's presence, it went on far too long and they should have either killed him off much sooner or rehabilitated him somehow.

But when they start selling this on disk, we'll buy the whole set.
Even though Evan Cortez was a sh*tty part with an even sh*ttier actor playing it (he can't act to save his fanny), it is still the best damn cop show on tv. BAR NONE!
Although, like an earlier poster, NB leap-frogged in threats of jumping the shark, the ultimate JTS came when Evan was killed off. The chemistry was still there with Cheech Marin and Don Johnson, but it wasn't enough to save the series from being canceled after the 6th season. I still watched it, but it just wasn't the same. And I, for one, liked Harvey Leek - but without the Evan/Harvey banter, the show suffered more.
