Danny Larson was played by Craig Hurley , he played in warlock the armageddon, and conquering space, but since then has nearly dissagpeared from the public eye . other than a few bit roles . he was a guest on an episode of Star Trek TNG,as well as the Client and was doing some theater work in illnios
I've thought about this show for the past few years, but all I can rember is that they would do a lead in,sort of law and order style and kick it into the janet jackson song. I remember thinking it was a cool show, but I was so young and it came on so late I'm not sure I really ever saw an episode. Whatever of the show I did see must have made an impact, because I would love to see something with this plot on tv now.
Uhh-never did jump! Totally sucks that it never made it past season 1. look, the name of the actor that played Danny is Craig Hurley. He was the best by the way. Totally rocked. Where the hell did he end up anyways. I've tried to find him in other things, but no luck. And it's not Jeff Wake, it's Jeff Kaake. The pilot WAS the best of the show, but the eps were pretty good, too. This show was truly a good show and ACTUALLY- here's the deal. That was 1990. Here it is- 2005 and Nasty Boys would be a better fit on TV today than it was 15 years ago. Let's get it back on shall we?? of course, Ben Bratt has other things to do I'm sure- but who cares? Get everyone else and lets Reunion-up for "Nasty Boys-Back in Town and Nastier than ever." C'mon!!! Damn, I loved that show....
This time, I do have a jump along with an anecdote. I was on a business trip to California that stopped in Las Vegas when who should take the seat next to me but Dennis Franz. He was flying back to L.A. from filming an episode of "Nasty Boys," which had yet to debut. A very nice guy, actually. He was going on and on about the show and how great it was going to be. A real "ensemble piece," according to the man. Practically Shakespeare, if you took him at his word. So, I tuned into an episode when it came on a couple of months later. In this one, a Whitney Houston-type singer comes to Las Vegas. Her brother, a roadie or something, is running guns to the Japanese Mafia on the side (!). Fortunately, one of the "nasty boys" (pretty boy cops who look more like GQ models) just happens to have 12 years of dance experience (!!). (Franz was their boss, not one of the pretty boys, of course). So, he's able to infiltrate posing as one of the Whitney clone's backing singers (!!!) and is able to break up her brother's operation -- seducing her along the way, of course. I had never seen something so ridiculous in my life!! If the show hadn't jumped the shark before this, it did here. I never watched another episodes. So much for the great "ensemble piece." Not surprisingly, the show only survived 13 episodes. Fortunately, Dennis would go on to bigger and better things, even if he didn't have to show his butt here.
The names of the missing actors are : William Russ as Lt. Farlow replaced by Dennis Franz, Jeff Wake as Paul Morissey and James Pax as Jimmy Kee. The actor who played Danny Larson has slipped my mind but I have a copy of the pilot at home. If anybody cares the character played by Benjamin Bratt and Don Franklin were Eduardo Cruz and Al Wheeler. The show was very good for as long as NBC played it. Luckily these guys have gone on to other things so that we can continue to see their work. They've done everything from Viper, Wonder Years to Clear and Present Danger. Good luck to them all.
Forgive me for looking at this from a teenage girl fantasy's point of view, but Dennis Franz was the only ugly guy on the show. What other reason did I need to watch it week in and week out? But seriously, I really loved that show. By the way, what were the names of the other two actors on the show besides Benjamin Bratt, Dennis Franz and Don Franklin?
