Ellen Foley hotter than Markie Post? What type of mental institutions do you idiots live in that let you have computer access? My God...it's not even close!
"Night Court" totally jumped the shark when Harry and Christine got married on the November 13th, 2008 episode of "30 Rock".

You could tell Harry and Christine didn't really want to go through with it. As a matter of fact, it looked like Harry Anderson and Markie Post didn't want to go through with it either. And where in the world was John Larroquette? Oh, sure... Harry explained that he wanted to be there but couldn't make it... But it all seemed so wrong. So forced. So stilted. At least Mac was there. But what was all that about the lady werewolf lawyer??? THAT NEVER REALLY HAPPENED!

Darn you Kenneth, the NBC page, for writing the script in which the wedding took place. And double-dog-darn you Tracy Jordan for making Kenneth's dream come true. YOU MADE "NIGHT COURT" JUMP THE SHARK!!!
HOw many people died on this show?

For crying out loud.
Love this show. I'm kind of glad that Harry and Christine didn't get together; it would have been too trite and pat. Also, they didn't have any heat together. They were better as buddies.

It was one of those rare examples when the quality never declined. I'm surprised at the negativity towards Harry Anderson, whose folksy, dry humor was perfect (in my opinion) for dealing with a workplace full of loonies.

As for the multitalented Ellen Foley, I did miss her when she left, and thought a romance between her and Harry would have been credible. It surprised me when she went from singing back-up on Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell album (replaced by Karla De Vito in the videos), to being a damn good actress. I wonder where she is now?

The only episode I hate was the one with Michael J. Fox and Olivia Barash who played Albert's girlfriend in Little House on the Prairie who was raped and killed by a pervert in a clown mask. They were hard, tough juvenile delinquents who whined and complained that the world was horrible and no one understood, blah blah blah.. But of course, all Michael needed was some soothing words from Harry and the tough shell was cracked. Boo, hoo, hoo. Problem solved. That one was sappy, politically correct and yucky. To bad Bull couldn't have opened up a can of whup ass. I guess it was too much to hope for.

Otherwise, Night Court had it all: great jokes, a fresh, interesting setting, and unforgettable characters like Bull and the raunchy Dan Fielding who never lost his sting. One of the best shows of all time.
Night Court was a timeless comedic gem! The writing was histerical, the production was flawless and the cast, oh my god!, Sheer Perfection! Harry Anderson, Markie Post, Charles Robinson, Marsha Warfield, Richard Moll, and last but certainly never least, the imcomparable comic genius and timing of John Larroquete. I used to watch this show religously and was almost never disapointed. Sure it did have a few, very few, fair episodes. But even in those few, I found many a chuckle. I think the show ended just about at the right time. The last season you could tell they were winding down and I never cared for the last season additions of Gilbert Gotfried and that annoying Stenograhper. I will always treasure this show forever!
This is a tough show to rate for me because the first two seasons with the endless cast changes made it hard to get into, but, the only constant was Dan. But it turned to crap once Christine got married and had a kid. They ruined my whole fantasy of her getting together with Harry and living happily ever after and i've never forgiven the show for that. But nothing beats it's heyday of 85-90. Then, it was the best show on television.
"Do you realize that you jiggle when you're mad?"

Long live Dan Fielding!
I wish they'd kept Ellen Foley. Markie Post had a great body but that's all I can really say about her. She's didn't leave any impression on me; just another Hollywood rent-a-blonde. But Ellen Foley has one of those faces you'd never forget in a thousand years. Why did they fire her?
I thought John Laroquette (sp?) was very funny as Dan, but he was still overrated. I stopped watching when it all became the 'Dan Fielding/Christine's Pregnancy' Show.
According to IMDB he's about 57 years old, so while not ancient, he's no kid either. (Good Lord, has NC really been that long ago?!) More than likely, just a case of someone not aging too well--I've seen some recent photos of him, and he looks like he's put on quite a bit of weight, I'm guessing it's just normal aging and possibly not being in great physical shape rather than illness or substance abuse.
Does anyone out there know if Harry Anderson had been seriously ill recently? I'm not kidding, I saw him live not too long ago in Vegas, and he looked awful. Really old and bloated, like he'd been sick (or drinking heavily). I know Night Court dates back a few years, but he was pretty young when he did that show, wasn't he? He just looked really really old, older than I would think he actually is. Kind of a shame, I used to think he was sort of cute.
I loved the line the abraisive blind woman had: "I'm not physically challenged! A bear on roller skates is physically challenged! I'm BLIND!"

Dialogue like that helped to make 'Night Court' a classic.
I don't get why so many of the posters seem to dislike Harry Anderson so much. He always seemed to be a pretty decent guy as far as I could tell. Not an actor of great range (if you've seen 'It', you'll know what I mean), but as a likeable laid-back personality pretty much playing himself, he came across well, and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as the performer doesn't get a big ego and try to do things way beyond his abilities. Which he never did on 'Night Court' IMHO. Yes, he put some stamp of his personality on the character, but show me a star of any long running series who doesn't do that. And he did it way less than many I could think of. Lay off Harry, he seems cool.
I'm with dalisonion. Ellen Foley didn't need enormous hooters to be hot.

And Markie Post wasn't hot with them. Too 'Little Orphan Annie' for me, I guess.
I don't care what anyone say's,the only reason to watch the show is to oggle Markie's giant hooters
