I think this was always a pretty good show but I think they relocated the show at one point and that's when it seemed to get Shumacherized. It was sort of like watching a poor man's Batman Forever. The sets looked kind of gaudy with the lighting they used nd I was never impressed with the redheaded cop.
This series was so prophetic that it got shut down by Bill Gates for making a statement against his menace to internet freedom, comparing Gates' domination ambitions toward the internet with a hostile takeover via his incompatible alternative called the 'UltraWeb'. They called Gates "Kieren Keyes" or something like that, and Gates obviously sued them to make the Keyes character stop looking like him, because the 'Keyes' character lost the Gates glasses and Gates' straight hair.

He was played by the nutter in 'Langoliers' BTW. Big surprise lol.

Video archaeologists of the future will recognize the hidden messages in Larson's stuff and teach classes about them, wait and see. It's a terrible challenge to hide messages to adults in shows that are packaged for kids, but it's been done before, just look at Simpsons.
I USED TO LOVE THIS HOW/ IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CXLED
Night Man started out great. The premise of the show was incredible and thoroughly enjoyable. Unfortunately, around the time the put "Dad" into cyberspace and replaced his sidekick with another actor, they also started going out into left field with the storylines. That is where they jumped the shark.
NIGHT MAN ROCKED! I DUG THE FACT THAT HE DROVE A PROWLER! PLUS HE COUL TUNE INTO THE FREQUENCY OF EVIL. THAT'S A GREAT POWER FOR A SUPERHERO TO HAVE. NIGHT MAN NEVER JUMPED. HE RULED!
Nightman faced a great many technical and budget restraints but it still managed to entertain. I wanted enjoyable escapism and this show delivered. It worked. It was fun. I loved it.
Night Man never jumped. It's the type of show most people loved or hated from the start but the show never fell apart. I liked it.
Poor Night Man! His excellent comic book was bought and ended by Marvel comics. His TV show was made with some less than special FX that got major criticism. They played up the comic booky stuff instead of going the Smallville route and dropping things like the costume and got picked on for that stuff. Then the show went to Canada and they had to replace the cast with Canadian actors and that pissed off some fans. I enjoyed every episode I saw of this series. Somebody else must have loved this too. I hear that the ratings were still good after season two and then Marvel went bankrupt and axed season three! NIGHT MAN JUST COULDN'T GET A BREAK!
This was a fun show that got slammed for being low budget. They just couldn't make this show look as good as the comic did and people put it down, but the writing was often very good.
This show was harmless, silly fun for its first season. Then, in the second season, most of the first season cast left and stories went from silly to just plain dumb. The lead character also was clothed a lot more often in the second season. This is a real shame, because he should have been shirtless more--or at least in that sexy leather vest!
First of all, the opening credits show him flying with these cheesy special effects in the background: paper-mache buildings and Night Man moving around like a dolphin. Plus when he shot that red beam out of his night eye it looked like someone was zapping the other person with a red flashlight! That show was great for laughs--even though it wasn't a comedy. But if you're one of those people who gets insulted when America feeds us shows like this, you'd end up throwing popcorn at the TV.
Unwilling to accept the fact that "Manimal" had been cancelled many years earlier. Glen Larson gives us an episode in which Nightman meets another superhero played by Simon MacCorkindale who is able to, surprise!, change into any animal that he wants to. It's a good thing this show was cancelled before he could be given a recurring role.
This show sucked ass from the very beginning. You know, it started as a truly awful comic book, and I never would have believed that it could have gotten worse. Apparently, I was mistaken.
This was a syndicated show set in San Francisco about a jazz musician who gained super psychic abilities after a comet passes through the atmosphere. The fact that he fights crime at night and is a Jazz musician with a regular nightly gig! Also I believe this was a Glen A. Larson show!
