I loved the frist 4seasons season 1 was the best classic show showing a great relationship between and African American man and his daughter.The show definatly jumped when they moved to L.A how stupid to take the main character's (Flex) and others and replace them with lame actors who were not funny or interesting personally Dewayne made the show super funny his one liners were the best and Flex was the heart of it all after that the show was just boring and bland Eww made me sick to watch that last season! Glad it was the last i must admit i wish i could have seen what was gona happen between brianna and dmoney. Anyways Last note does anybody else agree that it was more of a spinoff disguised as One on One remix? how stupid i would have been not so disappointed if they called it a spinoff because it sure was not One on One anymore
The show was good the first couple of seasons then when they got rid of the old characters and got those news ones the show went down and the ending sucked why didn't they show anything with brianna and dmack if they went out or what it was just bad
The show definely JTS when Breanna and Arnez moved to Venice Beach and introduced us to some of the lamest, unfunny roomates in tv history. They were terrible! They couldn't act their way out of a wet Spandex paperbag. When they delivered their lines it's like they didn't even try. Arnez turned into a whiney, qrivering queer. Breanna turned into a bitch in high heels. And the whole Arnez and Breanna breaking up and every time Arnez found a new date hearing Breanna bitch and moan about every new girl Arnez was with got pretty boring after awhile. ROOMATES: That Cash moron was so useless and annoying. Sara was a huge whore who proabaly sells her body on the Venice Beach boardwalk. D-mack, a wannabe playa with no macking skills what so ever. What stupid bimbo would fall for his crappy lines? He is not attractive at all and he's surpose to be loaded, please!!! that's hard to believe the way he dressed on the show, he looked like he purchased his clothes off the clearence rack at the local "Goodwill of Wannabe Playas." That Lisa chick is VERY sexy! I hated the way the writers portrayed her on the show as being a big loser who pines over D-Mack's whack ass. The finale was so gay Breanna sleeping with D-Mack that was so stupid why in the world would she give it up to that loser that was so retarded.
The show jumped when they moved to L.A. Flex reocurring, Dwayne and Spirit were let go for unknown young inexperienced actors in season 5. Ray J is another Ted McGinley. Everytime Ray J goes on a show, it falls apart. Just like what happened with Sinbad's sitcom on FOX back in the early 90's and Moesha back in '01.
For those player hating on Kyla Pratt...leave the actress alone. She's a HOTTIE!!! Yeah TPTB did screw up her Breanna character on the last season.

Moving to LA fulfilled two Jump tropes; "Moving" and "Exit... stage left". All they needed was to add Ted McGinley to the cast for the trifecta.

The show wasn't funny after Flex left the show, but that asian broad was beautiful. She should have her own show.
I am the hugest One On One fan, but when even Flex was gone and Dwayne, I stopped waitching when Brianna and Arnaz went over to L.A. the show became pointless, I think those 'roomates' they have, have no life at all, and so I'd only watch the earlier episodes and not the new junk.
Finally, there's a page for this show! I got obsessed with it when it first came out as it was on Moday nites on UPN. That was the only evening I was home for TV & I had no cable. After awhile, they switched up days/time & the kids just got too old. However, the first couple of seasons were some fun stuff!

I loved the show. The Flex's friendship with Dwayne (the guy with the hat, who's hilarious) and his interaction with Flex and his daughter made the show. The show jumped the shark when it moved to L.A. and wrote out all of the major characters, except Brianna and Arnez. Even worse, the new characters were mediocre, at best, and the storyline couldn't go too far.
I asked for this page to be opened. After running six years on UPN, there must be someone out there with a comment. The show jumped when it moved to LA but at least that was the end of the guy with the hat -- what was that about??? And what was with Arnaz and Brianna -- he was more of a girl than she'll ever be -- prettier, too.
