My boyfriend and I are old enough to have grade-schoolers and we still love Oswald. He would totally hang out at the diner with Henry, and I would babysit Catrina whos babbling is so adorable, and we would live in a building shaped like a sack of candy or a double bass. Oswald never jumped because it always had the same format, sweet for kids and more than a little bit trippy for the rest of us.
It was extremely bold of network executives to do a sitcom about the life of Lee Harvey Oswald. They should be given credit for that. The show jumped the shark when they framed him for....
Why is this even here?! IMO, for a show to be able to JTS, it has to not be a kids show(or have enough smartass humor for adults to tolerate it).
A great show with terrific music. I can actually enjoy watching this with my 3 and 1 year old. much better than Dora, Max&Ruby etc. And to the middle school punk...grow up sonny, the world doesn't revolve around what you want. If you don't like Oswald, change the channel...and get a job.
oooh I forgotten all about this show tell now!!
it goes to show you don't need loud flashy shows to have happy kids.
Such a sweet cute show

Bizarre? Warped?? You bet! This show is Gumby on acid. It has walking, talking trees, deeply disturbing pumpkin-head people and the most incredible buildings you've ever seen. If only this show had been on back when I was in college it would have significantly enhanced my academic experience. Must see TeeVee? This is it!
I agree with the dude above who called the show "bizarre" and "warped". My girlfriend and I found it by accident on vacation and we can't stop laughing or quoting it. I highly recommend you watch Oswald after a full bottle of strawberry daiquiri, or just stoned. Who comes up with this stuff?
This show is pure crack. Seriously, it's bizarre. An octopus and his friends the penguin, some paper dolls, a snowman and a sunflower stroll around in a psychedelic world that looks like some freaky kid's shadow box project in elementary school. It is a warped experience!
This, like all pre-school cartoons cannot jump the shark. The viewer jumps when he or she reaches kindergarten. If you are old enough to logon to this website you are too old to watch this show. To the above 11-year old poster, you are old enough to get up and change the channel. Do it. And don't bother with Nick's other shows either. Watch some real TV, may I suggest seeking out the shows currently listed in the Never Jumped category.
as soon as that stupid penguin got involved and brought along his stupid "penguin cop show" it all changed. personally I think that nick jr. should be outlawed. I am 11 and when I want to watch nick at 10 in the morning ( when I am off from school) I cant cuz I am watchin this dopey 8 legged sea creature and his moron friend that watches a stupid penguin show..come on give me a break! If they will not ban Nick jr than at least check with the middle school systems and see when they are off!
Oswald is a wonderfully illustrated QUIET show that my kids (2 & 4) love to watch. It stops them in their tracks and keeps them calm and quiet for 1/2 hour-who could ask for more? I had no idea that Fred Savage was the voice of Oswald( I'm not good at voice recognition except for the obvious voice of "Squiggy" for Henry the Penguin). I will have to listen more carefully. As for the above poster who obviously does not appreciate a "quiet moment" for a toddler-Oswald, put down that cup of coffee and have some more warm milk!
Oswald is the super calm octopus brought to you by Nick Jr. Fred Savage does a great job of making any of Oswald's views relaxed and ready to take a long nap... JUMPIN' KRACKON ON A POGO-STICK drink some coffee Oswald!
This Nickelodeon pre-schooler animated show about a boyish blue octopus named Oswald and his friends living in the Big City has yet to jump the shark. It is just too sweet. Oswald (voiced by Fred Savage) deals with everyday living problems with a kooky entourage of his dog Weenie, shaped like a hot dog; Henry, the nebbish penguin next-door neighbor voiced by David Leander); and Daisy the howdy-doody, righta-roonie good-natured girl next door who's drawn as a real daisy. For 18-month-olds, folks, "Oswald" is as good as it gets.
