It was in fact Sir Michael Horden and not Nigel Hawthorne who narrated the British version of Paddington Bear The later version jumped the shark because it was Americanised. I mean, can you imagine if some American animators made a version of Winnie the Pooh with Pooh talking in an American accent?
This show never jumped the shark. I watched it all the time when I was little, and I loved Paddington. I thought he was adorable, and I remember him being crazy about marmalade.
when the episodes started to appear on Pinwheel with the awful fake british accents. arrgh!
God know who Yanks take British Cartoon Characters and Americanise them. Paddington Bear read by Nigel Hawthorn was the definitive Paddington.
