I always hated this show as a kid, because Sally Struthers was/is annoying, and what the hell happened to BammBamm's superhuman strength? Why had he grown up to be a weak, ineffectual wimp? Some have said Penny and Wiggy were modeled on Lenny and Squiggy, but this doesn't add up chronologically. The only way this show looks even passable is when compared to "Flintstone Kids" from the 80's,which I consider to be the WORST SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON EVER.Flintstone Kids had the worst theme song, terrible scripts and animation, and messed with the history and continuity of the Flintstones. For instance,Fred and Barney are shown dating Wilma and Betty in grade school! They didn't meet until they were fully grown and the boys were working at a resort as bellhops, pretending to be bigshots to impress the girls. Also,I had always figured Mr. Slate to be 15 or 20 years older than Fred;in Flintstone Kids,Slate is smaller and younger than the other kids! The new characters introduced were stupid and ugly, including a bully,a "cute" blonde girl, and a black kid,who was the smartest kid in town, like Moonrock-this was to be "politically correct".Never saw any non-whites in Bedrock before, guess the kid was smart enough to move away.Does anybody else remember Flintstone Kids, and did anyone actually like it?If there was ever a worse cartoon series,I can't possibly imagine it...
Bamm Bamm is a eunuch. That's all that needs to be said.
Lets clear this up. The Flinstones took place in the Stone Age and when the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm show aired it took place 16 years later. I agree they should have aged Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty.
This cartoon really sucked espoecially when they did those lame made for TV movie episodes such as the FLintstones Christmas Carol. Also they sure turned Bam bam into a real wimp. I wished a bunch of dinosaurs would come along and eat those lamers.
Possibly the worst cartoon ever. If Fred wore protection in the first place, this craptaculer of a show never would have made it to the air.

Please don't even get me going on Schleprock. To create such a sad sack of character who was labeled a jinx is beyond sad. Did anything ever good happen to this guy?
How could anyone who was 7 years old in 1971 even know when Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were born? I was 9 in 1971 and I only knew the original Flintstones show as after-school reruns Monday to Friday. I suspected they were old cartoons but had no idea how old. I didn't find out until later in life that Flintstones was in prime-time from 1960 to 1966. So with my perspective just being that the original series was "a long time ago," plus the eternity of time when you're 9 years old, it made perfect sense to see P & BB as teens in the early '70s. By the way, this and the Flintstone Comedy Hour were my favorites in the '70s and I love cornball stuff, I love the Bedrock Rockers, I love their dune buggy, I love Pebbles (instead of Fred) being the one to get the gang involved in all those crazy schemes, Bamm-Bamm DID show his strength on this show, and IT NEVER JUMPED!!!!!
A pretty faithful update of "The Flintstones"with,in addition to Sally Struthers as a grown-up Pebbles, and Jay North as Bamm-Bamm,the late Alan Reed as Fred, the late Jean van DerPyl as Wilma, and the late, great Mel Blanc as Barney(all the original voices on ABC's "The Flintstones"series ),that REALLY jumped the shark when another actress replaced Sally Struthers as the voice of Pebbles.
Looking for a bad luck sledrock Doll - to give to a Wowzie, Wowzie Woo Woo friend...
Any suggestions? Used to love that character, and Egar on Winnie the Pooh - the sky is gonna fall
I loved this show and still feel a fondness for it. In fact, I always preferred it to The Flintstones! It's "cheese factor" scored a perfect ten, though I do wish Pebbles and Cindy could have at least once gotten into a cat fight. Or better yet, Penny and Cindy! Also, why didn't Moonrock and Wiggy ever hook up? Long live P&BB!
MY primary reason for Pebbles & Bamm Bamm JTS are when it when into the specials in the 80s and 90s....getting married (I Do) and New Baby (in their case, babies). Took the thing a bit too far. For those that complain that Pebbles ought to be only eight or nine when the show began (1971)...IT'S A FRIGGIN' CARTOON! Plus, the setting is PREHISTORIC...about one million BC or so. At least far back enough for Mastadon power and Bronto Burgers. Sheesh.
Ever notice how Pebbles and Bam-Bam aged 17 years in about half that time while Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty hadn't aged a day?
What the hell happened to Bamm Bamm? As a toddler on the original "Flintstones" he could lift Fred's car overhead with one arm. As a teenager he practically became a prehistoric metrosexual! Did someone spike his cornflakes with estrogen?
The show jumped whenever fat-ass Penny opened her mouth and called Moonrock "creep." If I was Moonrock, I would've knocked her out.
Pebbles and Bamm Bamm were separately "born" in 1963 and eight years later they are around SIXTEEN? Anyway, one of the very early "Pebbles" episodes of the original 1960s "FLINTSTONES" had Ann-Margaret as "Ann Margarock", babysitting Pebbles, and looking rather like the later 1971-73 teenage Pebbley Poo.Also that season (fall 1963-spring 1964) the very first teen Pebbles in yet another nightmare of Fred's, in "GROOM GLOOM" (w.Herb Finn, who'd also written for the show's parody source,"THE HONEYMOONERS", with fellow "FLINSTONE" writer,Alan Dinehart-broadcast Sept.26,1963), where Pebbles is dating unintentionally obxious newsboy Arnold (given what would eventually in the seventies become Don Messick's "Scrappy Doo" voice,as a kid, with Messick doing his normal "Ranger Smith'("YOGI") voice as a young adult here), both of whom are eloping. Also in that 1963 "FLINTSTONE" the voice of Pebbles (Sally Struthers, being born in 1948, WOULD have even then been perfect but was still up in San Franscisco 'till "ALL IN THE FAMILY")-anyway the voice of Pebbles as a teeanger in the 1963 "GROOM GLOOM " Flinstones ep.was by none other than Hanna-Barbera (then-recent newcomer) Janet Waldo, who'd made her HB debut as "Judy Jetson" on guess what series the year before in 1962,and who'd go on to do that kind of voice (Josie,Penelope Pitstop, one of the SHazzan! twins, etc.)as well as others. In a 1964-64 episode (next season), Fred Flintstones ("RIP VAN FLINSTONE", w.Tony Benedict),AGAIN dreams his little baby is grown up (here Jean Vanderpyl of "WIlma and regular baby Pebbles" fame on that show and Rosie the robot on "JETSONS" doing the TEENAGE Pebbles as well, taking over from Janet Waldo but predating Sally Struthers) married to Bamm Bamm (now voiced as a young adult by Allan Melvin!!). I also agree that Bamm Bamm (though in the just-mentioned epsiode portrayed a grown up version of his famous infant self) was portrayd incorrectly,as a loveable goof. Many reference books don't mention this but the original parental characters (Fred, etc.) appear with only Bea Benaderet (left in 1964, died in 1968) and Gerry Johnson (moved on after the original "FLINTSTONES" run in 1960-1966) gone in 1971, with Gay AUtterson aka Gay Hartwig being Betty for a number of years (Alan "Fred" Reed, Jean "Wilma" Vandrpyl, and Mel "Barney and Dino" Blanc returned, though. Also back was John Stephenson's character Mr. Slate, Fred's boss, not so Harvey Korman as the Gazoo..:()
When P & BB (born in 1963, as I knew from re-runs, 1 year before me) showed up on the little screen as teens when I was only 7. It was all over once I figured this out, maybe in its 3rd season. H&B blew this one; couldn't they have waited a few more years before this obvious spin-off?
