They're clearly getting desperate for ratings and therefore trying to be more and more outrageous to attract viewers.
"Sweatshops are good!"
"Global warming? A myth!"
"Getting bored? Here are some boobs to look at!"
A century ago, they'd be traveling from hamlet to hamlet in their caravan, selling magical elixirs and - for a nickel - letting you peek at the amazing pickled fetus they keep in a Mason jar. But in the 21st century, someone gives these yahoos their own TV show.
Is Penn Jillette Hollywood's idea of an intellectual?

I love how Jumptheshark won't spell out the show's real name, or even use astrixes, i.e. "Bulls**t!" haha
When they devoted an episode to bashing 'psuedo-science' they went from interesting to revealing themselves as completely sold-out to the "Scientism" "Atheism" lobby.
Mythbusters does what this show should do, and it does it with class and actual facts.

I don't agree with every episode (i believe glolal warming is real and I'm not a fan of Wal Mart, among other things) but it's a great show regardless. I really hope it comes back for another season because they hadn't done astrology, the Bermuda Triangle, or Atlantis yet. I would like to see follow up episodes for "End of the World" so they can debunk the Mayan Calander BS and "Conspiracy Theories" so they can take apart the Waco theory made popular by executed terrorist whackjob Timothy McVeigh.
After season 1 they seemed to run out of legit scams to attack and go on to making outlandish statements.
I heard this show for the first time the other day...and I'm torn. Taking shots at Mother Teresa and Gandhi (no they weren't perfect) on one hand and then PETA on the other.
I'll say it hasn't jumped the shark so far...but Penn & Teller are surely hiding something of their own!

No one will agree with everything Penn and Teller say is BS - I know I don't, but I love the show anyway.
It's important for people who are watching it for the first time to understand that these guys are true-to-form libertarians. That's the basis for their opinions and arguments. Period.
I like even the shows I don't agree with however, because they often times show a side to something I agree with that I didn't see before - makes me think a little.
And personally, I LOVED the 9/11 "conspiracy" episode. I think the whole series should be Penn and Teller making fun of anyone who believes the tripe those conspiracy nuts sell. Controlled demolition....American Flight 77 passengers and crew detained on some secret government site -Area 51 perhaps??? BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

It's kind of funny to see the reasons some people are giving. Laugh and applaud when Penn and Teller are calling out the nutcases, but when they turn their sights on something you agree with, then it's all "Hey, that's not BS! They jumped the shark!" Defending something you dislike or attacking something you like doesn't constitute jumping the shark.
I don't think this show has jumped the shark in the strictly classical sense, where a specific moment changed the direction of the show for the worse. But more loosely, this show jumped the shark with the current season's sudden spike in the number of gratuitous breasts. Look, I enjoy the sight of a nice rack as much as the next guy... actually, probably more. But they're using them as a crutch. It seems like, "Hmmm, we can't think of anything to say, and we need to fill some time, so... look! Boobies!"

It never jumped the shark. Those of you who say it did should ask yourselves whether you are saying this just because P&T demolished some pet piece of BS you wanted to believe.
I was prepared to give my vote, because it really seems like they are reaching on some of the latest topics. Mt Rushmore for example. That was a stretch and a half making that into a cogent and interesting show. It swerved into some kind of bizarre and unintereting editorial on patriotism.
BUT THEN I noticed all of the people who disliked the 9/11 conspiracy episode. That was a somewhat recent show and if it stirred up that many people, then I guess the show is still going strong. And it helps me figure out which goofballs I need to avoid. I am still amazed by what some people are willing to believe, and that is what I've always enjoyed about BS.

Maybe the most important show on TV. While the History Channel does countless specials on UFO's, Atlantis, Nostradamus' "prophecies" and other nonsense, P&T counter it with a show that proves it's all horsepuckey.
