Shark Bytes
This show never had time to jump the shark. They only made 6 episodes or so. I can't believe this show still isn't available on DVD. Terrific show, fun for the whole family as the cliche goes.
It was sadly not on long enough to have a chance to jump the shark. I was about twelve or so and I still remember. It was entertaining and intelligent and thus had no place on television in the early 1980s.
You Yanks and such metaphors. Anyway Q.E.D was shown in England in about 83 on a Sunday afternoon. I loved this- even the period jazz was well suited!. A nice ensemble cast with just the right clash of class and character to keep this melodramatic 'romp' superior to other adventure shows of that time. I've got about 3 1/2(!) episodes on V.H.S. still; but really wish I could get it in entirety, (any suggestions?). This was one of the very few T.V. shows that- personally, has stood the test of time. I think I'm the only person who still remembers it, as all my friends can't recall such. Anyway I'm off for tea and scones- Ta ta!, P.S. I've been to Greenwich observatory...no vans or lorries blew up though!,dig?.
Clever show, only a few episodes. To the earlier poster, Phipps was played by George Innes who has had small roles in a lot of famous movies like Quadrophenia, I Claudius, and Shogun.
Didn't jump, wasn't given enough time! Sam Waterston was perfectly cast, and I remember that his assistant Phipps always saved the day (although I have no clue who played him)!
NEVER! Wasn't given a chance to grow. CBS screwed the pooch. They were looking for more family entertainment and they had it. Just sad to see how many times the networks do this sort of thing.
This show never jumped the shark...It was a great premise with wide audience appeal. I feel it to be a true shame that CBS dropped it. I would like for Sci-Fi channel to do a marathon of the episodes.
