I recently viewed The Longest Drive episode on our local cable service. I too would like to get a dvd set of the 10 episodes that aired, and there may also be an unaired episode, as a snowstorm supposedly disrupted tv signals. Does anyone know where I can get the dvds of this series?
In '76 I was living in the UK and watched this series faithfully. Loved it. Just prior to the start of what I thought would be the finale, the BBC or ITV (can't remember what channel it was on) announced that : due to a major snowstorm in the states, this episode would be delayed and THAT WAS THAT!
Never knew if there ever was a finale or not and for years wondered if these guys were ever successful in their quest,
Any information would be appreciated,

What was the title of the episode that dealt with a feud between ranching families, where a pretty dark-haired girl from back east is almost ravished by a villain, only for the villain to be shot by a second girl who had seen the first as a rival?
Well THAT'S sad...I always meant to track it down and after 30 years, didn't realise a complete series wasn't screened. I'm surprised the networks picked it up at all here in Australia if it had been dropped so quickly in its country of origin. What a first-rate show! Prior to that I'd had no idea Kurt Russell could really act (I remember a masterful scene luring a wild horse/animal to be tamed). Not long after he played an unlikely but brilliantly executed Elvis. And I hadn't paid attention to Tim Matheson, even though he'd been in Here's Lucy and the movie Your's Mine and Ours. So my eyes were opened to the both of them. Our cable networks have never purchased the episodes and it seems neither have any US ones. Somebody find them!
Dang! I'm desperate for copies of Captive and Freight Train rescue! Email me, puhleeeez!

I found a VHS copy of the season opener, "Captive." I also have a copy of "Freight Train rescue " a two part episode, also on VHS. I sure would like the entire series.
Do you know where I might buy copys of the few episodes of The Quest, preferable on DVD but I will take VCR if I have to ???
I have already found the Longest Drive but I need to complete my collection with these few episodes of this western series

"The Quest," unfortunately, never had the chance to jump the shark. The few episodes that aired were far above the usual run of TV Westerns, but it was scheduled opposite "Charlie's Angels" at the very height of the Farrah Fawcett craze. The Last Supper with the original cast couldn't have gotten viewers under those circumstances! Kurt Russell and Tim Matheson were sensational in this; thank the Lord their careers didn't end when this series was canceled.
This was a really good show; one of my favorites when it was on. I thought NBC never gave it a fair chance... but then the networks pick which shows to give the extended chances to... Were this show made today, it'd be on one of the networks. It had too much talent to miss... from the actors to the writing... like I said, Good Show!
Top notch realistic Western - maybe too violent for some. [West Wing Vice President] Tim Matheson (Quentin Beaudine)'s last western (after 1 season each on The Virginian, Bonanza, 3 episodes of How the West Was Won before he became king of the TV movies. Kurt Russell (Morgan "Two Persons" Beaudine) breaking away from his Disney past. A well-written show
I clearly recall another series entitled "The Quest," which was a western starring Tim Matheson and Kurt Russell. It was about two brother who, having been reunited after Russel's character and their younger sister had been kidnapped as children by Indians, go searching for her. Being raised by the tribe who kidnapped him, Russell's character had assimilated to the Indian ways, preferring to be called by his tribal name, " Two-Lives," wearing buskskins, riding bareback, never smiling, Bowie knife, etc. A good show (based somewhat on John Ford's "The Searchers"), the series lasted half a season and JTS (the 70s not being a decade kind to westerns), cutting the brothers short on their quest, but freeing the stars (especially Russell) for bigger fish.
