Orphans sure were a big thing in the Eighties (Annie, Punky, Sister Kate's charges). They all seemed to capture the hearts of their old fuddy-duddy guardians, and with the exception of Webster I enjoyed watching them all. I remember wishing Rags To Riches had been on long enough to have the chance to jump. Yes, the singing parts were corny, but this is such an obscure piece of Eighties nostalgia that I, too, wish it could be made available on DVD.
A dvd of the entire series really needs to come out for all the loyal fans, I also believe you will find a whole different generation watching this.
I love this show, my mom said i seen the tv series but i dont remember thosebut ilove the movie. I just bought it a while back and now im looking for the tv series i really wish they wouldhave those on dvd or vhs.
I was 5 years old when Rags to Riches first aired. I absolutely LOVED this show. I was hurt when the show got cancelled. How are they gonna cancel one of the best made for tv movies out there. I never missed an episode I always taped it I bought the Pilot movie, but they need to create a full series cause I want to see all the episodes. My 15 year old niece watched the pilot and loved the show. I told her she would really enjoy all the episodes if they would make the series.I remember the baby Jessica story also and remember being upset that my show was being interrupted. Hey I was 5 and didn't know better...lol. But someone out there really needs to grant all our wishes and put this show on dvd or even vhs. I don't care I'll buy either.
My sister and I used to love watching this show... I remember the episode with Shasa Mitchell from Step By Step, I believe he was Diane's boyfriend.. I vaugely remember the black book.. haha goodtimes.. I wonder if I can get the episodes on DVD..
I remember Patty when she couldn't read, and Rose when she got into that weird food.

One very original thing about this show was that they were very creative about putting 50's and 60's songs to match their particular situation.
This was the first show I remember really following and being invested in. I was in elmentary schol when was on, but I LOVED it! It was on Sunay nights for awhile and I used to make my father videotape it because we had dinner at Grandma's. I was genuinely sad when it gotcanceled!
fun show, loved the shembeckler girls. jodi was awesome in that red bathing suit. seing the rags girls throw them in the pool was exciting if you know what i mean. saxaphone in the pool. and were legitimate!
I remember this show and it was my favorite! Couldn't believe it jumped the shark because of breaking news. Man! Makes me feel really selfish that I was 8-years-old and mad at baby Jessica's parents for not watching their kid better.
I loved this show entirely too much. I remember getting in a screaming match with my brother because he wanted to watch the summer olympics and this was the one show I actually cared about.
I also remember when it was bumped for Baby Jessica in the well. What a crazy thing to remember...

i remember this show back in 1987. i especially loved the shembeckler girls, mainly jodi, played by karen lynn scott.seeing her in that red bathing suit was the most amazing thing. sure she was rude and snotty, but hey she was beautiful. the rags girls should of let her go after she tossed the saxaphone in the pool.
