I think it was the first fully 3D computer-animated cartoon ever. And I loved it. Nowadays, CGI movies are so common, it made them suck. Reboot was unique and innovative, groundbreaking, even! Loved the voice actors (RIP Tony Jay, voice of Megabite), the characters, and the computer theme.

For me, it jumped when Enzo grew up and became a ruthless mercenary guy. Is this the same kid we knew who was playful, fun, and cute? I remember the scene were the grown-up Enzo blew a guy away...it haunted me, knowing the Enzo we knew and loved was turned into this. I knew the show was done for.
Though I did enjoy the episode where Mainframe was restored (awesome musical), I didn't care for the show in general when Bob was sent into the net by Megabyte. It stopped being kooky and fun and was trying to be too serious. Then Enzo became a gruff "badass" and Bob wasn't the Bob I knew when he came back. Just wasn't a fan.
When Enzo became big, they jumped the shark.
I really liked season three and its ending, but season four was awkward and painful to watch at times.

If they ever pick up this show again, I hope they do it in the style of season three instead of four.
Never jumped. My favorite cartoon. The first season and a half I'll admit didn't draw me in because of the stories. It was the 3D animation (new at the time), and the novelty of the game cubes. By the second season though I was liking the characters. Then came the continuing story that started in the middle of the second season (and still has not ended) and it became the best cartoon series of all time. I have never seen another cartoon yet with better writing than ReBoot. I'm very exited and looking forward to them continuing the story in 2010.
The Evil Dead episode was one of the most awesome things ever done with computer animation.
"It's the ABCs! They've double-crossed us!"

Possibly the best in-joke I've ever heard in a cartoon series.
Reboot was a show I was proud to grow up with, it was creative and had interesting characters and conflicts, and it became darker and more mature as it played out. However, those two "movies" were kinda weak compared to where we'd been before. The worst thing of all though was how they ended the show on a cliffhanger. Megabyte is in control of the system and about to get his revenge on Bob at last, but that's where they ended it. If somehow a conclusion is made the show might jump back, but even watching the early stuff isn't the same knowing there's a gaping cliffhanger at the end.
Reboot (much as I love it) jumped in Season 4. Dot gets weepy and loses all her self-esteem, Matrix is reduced to nothing more than a violent brute, Mouse and Ray completely disappear, Hex sacrifices herself, Megabyte comes back, a supervirus looks like she's barely out of junior high, and two Bobs. Not to mention, the most evil cliffhanger in the history of cliffhangers. I mean, really. MFE should've quit while they were ahead and just ended the series with the "bang" that was Season 3.
I liked the first two seasons, absolutely loved the 3rd season, but the movies left a bad taste in my mouth (movies, fourth season, they're the same). Enzo showed Megabyte, then massacred a bunch of Guardians, I'm sorry, but that was a bit excessive. The Damen episodes weren't that bad, but I felt it wasn't as good as the third season. But the second movie, My Two Bobs, ugh, I wanted to hurt every character that bought into the "Let's celebrate shiny old Bob, instead of this new Bob who saved all our asses and is exactly the same as the old Bob, assuming the old Bob isn't the copy, which is likely since he does not have all the same memories as everyone else, and can't remember anything that didn't involve Megabyte or his spies." I will admit, I'd like a resolution for the series, but that's it.
This was one of the BEST cartoons on the air! I was disappointed when ABC didn't carry it after all, and even more disappointed when it went to cable (which I don't have). Even more disappointed when the creators went for the green ($$$$) instead of the fun of the show. They only offered ONE season on 4 expensive CD's, but I think they should release the series, and maybe even bring that show back in one form or another! Bob & his crew rule always, and I will **always** be a fan of this unique cartoon series!
ReBoot rocks. It is the Alpha to Omega of CGI entertainment. The gang at Mainframe have their best work in this series. Remember they were inventing this stuff as they went along. The early I and II episodes are still very watchable, III just blew me away and IV (which I saw as a single 2-hour movie) was like a gift to this long-time fan. Wish it didn't take so many years to get new material to air though.
Reboot grew with its audience. I watched it when i was a kid and loved the humor. I was a BIG Bob fan and loved the fact that he never got along with the dog. When they finnally came out with the third season with the focus on Matrix, my jaw dropped. So much had changed and it was still interesting. My favourite episode is 3.14 "Showdown" in which Matrix fights Megabyte. Megabyte is even shocked at how much the little spite has changed. Even when Matrix as his gun out, Megabyte still jokes and berates him. Then Matrix proceeds to KICK HIS SHINY METAL ASS!!!!
Never jumped. I preferred the 3rd and fourth seasons to the first two. The animation was a billion times better, and the writing improved. I love the little inside jokes and pop culture references.
This first fully CGI cartoon series matured from the last story arc of Season II to the entire run of the ReBoot series. Visually stunning for it's time with the start of Season III.
