Remote Control was da bomb. To this day, it is the only non music video show besides Daria worth watching. There is actually a couple of websites out there dedicated to Remote Control with lots of video clips. One is dedicated to Kari Wuther and the other is called The Basement: A Salute to Remote Control, I think.

Anyways, if the show had any shark jumping, it was when they changed the think real fast round during the final season. But it was such a small jump when compared to other shows. I wish they would put this show on DVD.
This show Never Jumped The Shark, though MTV sure did. I just think MTV still a new concern then let the creative impulses go where they would to hilarious and very entertaining effect. Now so much cable TV is dictated by bland formulas inspired by corporate greed where nothing like Remote Control can see the light of day.

Anyway though I remmeber the episode with the actors who played Eddie Munster, Danny Partridge, and Eddie from the Courtship of Eddie's Father as contestants. Ken Ober sez to Danny Bonaduce "Hey can we pal around after the show"? And Bonaduce shoots back "Gee I dont know, you're gonna be pretty busy, I hear the fleet's in".
Kari was Uber-hot and the reason for it jumping the shark. Unfortunately, I'll always remember this show as the turning point for MTV - where once MTV was fantastic and showed lots and lots of videos - it is now a festival of steamy crap - in the rare instance you do catch a video, it's a mind-bogglingly stupid rap vid. MTV sucks.
I was on the show in 1990-91, I cant remember!. Does anyone know where I might find a video of my episode as I never got to seeit!
Kari Wuhrer. I had forgotten this show until I stumbled onto this sight, but now I even remember the theme song. "Kenny wasn't like the other kids, TV mattered, nothing else did. The girl'd say yes, but he'd say no, now he's got his own game show." Kari leaving was the death knell of this show. Damn she was hot, Marisol was too.
The show made SUCH a mistake when they replaced Kari! I hope General Hospital (Her current gig as of Apr. 2005) keeps her around, or they would make the same mistake that RC made!
Jumped with all the new chicks. Kari was the one I liked the best. And of all the Adam Sandler characters, I liked the one where he played Colin Quinn's ne'er do well cousin Stick Pin Quinn. Stud Boy is a close 2nd.
It was a great show until they started trotting a screaming, obnoxious 8 year old out called "The Metal Midget" to ask questions about Metal groups. He made me use the show's namesake every time he darkened my TV.
When the show left MTV It jumped. It was different after it left. While it was on MTV is was some of the best TV ever, EVER. It was a game show ran by psychopaths. The video round the stupid hints giving, the crazy episode when all three contestants were replaced because they were deemed stupid, snack time when some sort of snack fell from the ceiling or what ever. I'm not saying it will be all the best game show ever but for now its untouchable. Only good memories. I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one who noticed how hot Kari Wurher body was, Is , have you seen her lately? Still fine man the curves on her then past great. The show was magic I don't think they planned anything or at least much and it always turned out great. I hated the second it left my screen. Where is it I'd kill for a copy of that show. There are copies somewhere and they should be looked for, all Indiana Jones style. Yeah Remote Control is some kind of Ankh.
Loved the show from Marisol through Kari and don't think I saw it once after Kari left.
A recent interview with Colin Quinn revealed that he and Ken Ober used to dare each other to do the show with their penises out (hidden behind a podium, of course) and they'd do it! Miss this show, wish it was still on.
I was a contestant on Remote Control on the special Elvis Tribute show. It was a blast ! Got tortured by Colin, did the math word problem ( and won Thankyouverymuch.) Don't forget Dennis Leary played Andy Warhol on the show to - he made an appearance when I was there. Only years later did I realize who it was after he became a bigger star. Never Jump the Shark - though MTV definitely did with that Stupid Sorority Show. Awful.
The reason I started watching MTV in the first place! I was a teenager at the time and my mom watched Jeopardy all the time and I always lost to her so I was like "Finally! A game show about something I know about, TV trivia!" That was why I watched the first season. And then,...(Clouds parting, angels blowing long trumpets, "Halleluiah!" being sung over and over) In the second season,... Kari! She was a complete and total GODDESS!!! That long red hair, that perfect face, that kick-ass figure, and that naughty girl attitude had me (and ,apparently, a lot of other guys) completely hooked! After she left, I still watched, but it wasn't 'Must See TV' for me anymore and it went off the air shortly thereafter. Another great MTV show ruined by people with zero attention spans, but then, what else is new?
I wouldn't mind seeing this show rerun for its kitsch value and to see Sandler and Quinn pre-SNL. But since it also featured a pre-implant Kari Wuhrer she probably snuck in one night and burned all the tapes
This show jumped, and at the same time it didn't. I always had mixed feelings about this show. It finally jumped when Ken became very irritable in the 1990 season and they hired the bimbo hostess Susan Ashley. It did seem to get boring though always seeing the ladies in the pink chair, how stereotypical, I always wanted to see one of the ladies get the lift-off.
