Hello, I really loved Rescue 911. I think you guys are right about releasing this show on DVD. And I support all of you guys who think that it should be reaired on TV, and all of you who think that it should be released on DVD. Also, I think that we need to do what ever we need to to make that happen. One of the reasons why I really liked this show is because William shatner does a great exelent job of discribing what is going on on the show for people who are blind and visually impaired. To all the TV shows who aren't airing it, Bring it back, Bring it back, Bring it back! And to the production company who ever made the show, Please release it on DVD so that if the TV stations chose not to air it, us people who like the show won't have to be forsed to forget about the show, and be forsed to face the fact that that show is history, and is a one hit wonder. Also, I want to let you guys who really love this show, I rate this show 5.0, and I'm rating this show five stars. *****. I think its about time that they do release it on DVD, and release it to the public, that means, releasing it to all record stores in the whole United states, and also releasing it to all vidio stores in the United States. Also, to those of you who would like the show to come back on TV, and released on DVD, you can go on a site called, TVshowsonDVD.com to vote for it to be released on DVD. Also, if you go on www.Youtube.com, and type in the vidio, Bring back Rescue 911, you will find that same *****. And if you click on the vidio, you will hear instructions on how to bring back the show to TV from the guy who posted it. That way, if the TV stations do air it, and it does get kicked off the air about one or two months later, us people who like the show can still watch it, and we won't have to face the fact that that show doesn't air any more. Also, if the TV stations do air it, they will only use the half an hour version witch is the syndicated version. Also, in the syndicated version, correct me if I'm wrong, they were only 40, or 41 episodes that ever aired. And that's why the show didn't last very long. Also, when you go on Youtube.com, to try to bring back Rescue 911 on TV, please get all your Friends, Family members, Co workers, and any butty else that all of you guys know to rate this show 5.5 and to rate it five stars. Bye the way, When you do go on Youtube.com to rate the show, Each person can only rate the show one time. If you get other people to rate this show 5 stars, then eventually it will be feetured on the front page of Youtube, and you will have a much better chance of them bringing it back on the air on TV.Bye the way, for those of you who would like to write me a responce, please email me at doublestackingdave@yahoo.com. Thank you very much.
i think that they should put the show back on tv and also bing it out on dvd .. this show was my most favorite show growing up... i love all emergency type shows like this one... my dad is a fireman and i just love that type of action and it was great to actually watch it on tv
Can we get this somehow released on DVD? I LOVED this show when I was younger and would love to see more of it. Some of the most memorable for me was a small child walking through the house with a toothbrush in their mouth and tripping getting the toothbrush lodged in the roof of their mouth. To this day I never let my small son walk with his toothbrush. Also I remember the one with the small child drowning in a bucket. Such a great show and it does teach us great lessons. AT LEAST REALEASE IT ON DVD.
I really enjoyed this show, which was on when I was a pre-teen. It taught me that there are a variety of reasons to call 911 - and that not every story has a happy ending - but that if you can think quickly and clearly, you can better the odds of a happy ending.
I don't think that it should be criticized at all for showing events that happen because parents let their kids out of their site or because someone is ignoring posted rules... That's life people! My dad let me roam the Ren Cen in downtown Detroit alone when I was 8. He also encouraged me to ignore boundaries in national parks because he wanted to get a better photograph. I'm not saying that everyone is as stupid as he is, but the show portrays real people in real situations.

I always wathced the shoe even when it was in re-runs.. I think this also got my intresetd in the emergency services and why i becamea vol fire fighter...i loved this show and we love to see a new verison air to doucument the stories of our emergency service pros.
does anybody else remember when they either went to comerical or came back showing the helicopter getting upset because you knew the next segment was the last and you had to go to bed???
The only reason, to me anyway, Rescue 911 jumped was that one episode in '94 that had the documentary about organ donation by the Norwegian family. It dragged on way too long and just didn't fit with Rescue 911's general theme. It was a tragedy and yes some good came from it, but, it didn't fit with a show that saved nearly 350 lives with its stories of hope and courage. There was no tantamount message in that episode. Yes, people occasionally died on the show, but that episode was just glum. There was nothing that could be gained or learned from that episode. Rescue 911 was an excellent show and deserves a revival. People still need to know how to handle themselves in emergency situations, and even though formal training is the best, Rescue 911 can guarantee that the average lay person has the best fighting chance to triumph over an emergency. Bring back Rescue 911 with Bill Shatner!
The show received some criticisms for always showing the ill or endangered person being saved and/or making a full recovery. The unfortunate reality is that despite calling 911 and getting emergency care, some people do die. It was felt that this show gave the public a false sense of security that by calling 911 their loved one would be saved.
Rescue 911 never jumped the shark. It is, to be, a cherished memory of my childhood, alongside Full House and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
It taught me, growing up, many important lessons about first aid and that you should call for help if you need it. It was truely an outstanding program.

From the time I was a baby, I can remember this show comming on every Tuesday after wheel of fortune. My family and I would always watch it together. On Tuesday nights at 7, you couldn't pull me from the television if your life depended on it. I loved this show, and still do to this day. William Shatner was an excellent host, with an excellent voice for the show! I don't understand why no cable station is showing reruns of it! Nor do I understand why the show hasn't been releaced on dvd yet! I loved the stories, the music, the host, I loved it all! One story I really remember was the one about the blind man who warned everyone about the fire in his apartment, pretty good one! Another one was the one about the rollercoaster opperator who got most of his leg cut off by the ride. The horrible thing about that story was the fact that the little kid had to sit on that ride and watch the whole damn thing. To all the cable stations in the US, start showing reruns of the show again, and to the production company, you need to releace this show on dvd! You may not think it will sell well, but believe me, I'm sure a lot of people would by it.
It was my favorite show as a kid! I wish a channel would start showing reruns again. The burn victim episodes all traumatized me, though...I couldn't go near a hotwater heater for about five years after the episode where the father was trying to relight the pilot light when it exploded and burned his children. To this day I have nightmares about that one
