Never Jumped
Day One
Speedy gets Polly
Shark Bytes
I remember watching the show when I was little and falling in love with it because I just liked it for some reason. Now that I'm 18 I go back and watch it and catch all of the jokes and such that just didn't make sense to me as a kid. I haven't squirted a beverage out of my nose since Christmas Eve at my aunt's house back in 2000. Talk about hilarious! A fantastic show with hilarious punchlines, cybernetic felines, and some epic battles in between...makes it my favorite Cartoon\Anime ever.
Interesting note about this show. When the rights we're bought to distribute it in english, no scripts were provided. So basically the staff had to go through and re-write every scene to match what was going on and to match the mouthes (hence all the random jokes).
But ya, never jumped, easily the only anime to be just as good in english as it is in moonspeak.

The show was on so early in the morning that no one seemed to care how the hell they translated it. I remember one moment where a side character says:
"I'm going to make like Hiroshima and disappear!"
Wow.
"I'm going to make like Hiroshima and disappear!"
Wow.
There vvere signs in a lot of eps of the shovv that Speedy and Polly vvere attracted to each other. It really seemed to m that Polly alvvays preferred Speedy- she argued and hit Guido a lot more, and Speedy vvas the one vvho usually apologised if he said something vvrong to Polly.
In fact, the original Japanese version ended vvith their VVEDDING!
This shovv vvas great. I usually hate anime, but I don't think this shovv should be classified as anime...it vvas just too good! It spoofd so many things and I alvays foud a nevv thing to laugh at. It needs to b rerun, definitely!

Never jumped, not ever. This was one of the earliest examples of the sort of weirdness that would come to characterize parts of Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" block...yet it was, at the time, still marketed as a kids show. Lots of bad in-jokes about anime, a blatantly gay villain, plenty of odd double-entendre bits that didn't get 'translated out', and just simply deranged in general. Subversive and ahead of its time, and it needs to be brought back for those who didn't catch it in syndication at odd hours the first time around.
How can a show jump when it's motivation for an elementary-school student to wake up at 5 A.M.? Not only that, it's one of the few televised anime to get a decent translation staff (as I recall, in one episode, they freaked out because they received a note... in Japanese). I must, however, question one thing: why does every anime show that gets brought to American kid's TV have one character dubbed by a Paul Lynde impersonator? (In this show, it was the Big Cheese.) Not a debit, however, just an oddity. Hurrah to the Pizza Cats... may their assistant never misaim the big gun.
It never jumped, because there was no possible place for it to do so. It was 52 episodes of pure parody and psychotic pizza procurement. (Ah, alliteration.)
I'm just wondering, but how can you say it jumped when Speedy got Polly? That was in the last episode. They couldn't really go downhill if the show was ending at that point. It was funny but I couldn't tell who it was really aimed at: they had jokes about Dan Rather's toupee and talking to the producer. What six year old would know what they're talking about? I was older than most people who watched this (I was about 15), and so I got it, but it still had me wondering. And didn't characters on Saban's other shows (like Masked Rider) watch this show sometimes?
"And now, the SPC Fan Club Oath: The Pizza Cats are samurai, and I'd like to note, their antics take your breath away, like furballs in your throat! so hail the day, o Pizza Cats! Please ring your little bell. although you may be pen and ink, we know you'll fight like... PIZZA CATS!" not only did they have endless spoofs of anime and other action cartoons ("they've got more fur than any turtle ever had"), silly sight gags, bad puns, and funny villains, but the oath and the laugh-your-ass-off theme song. makes me wish Cartoon Network would quit repeating all the Gundam Wing episodes for the 97th time and show something boss like this instead.
This show never jumped. Samurai pizza cats was the best cartoon on when I was a kid. It's a shame I taped over all those episodes I had on tape. Damn...
I must have seen this f**king show a million times my sophomore year at the University of Rochester. My roommate and I would wake up at 4 or 5pm (after missing all classes), pull bongs all night long, listening to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Phish, and other assorted stoner music while watching TV off of our shitty antennae (our campus didn't have cable at the time). We would then purposely stay awake until 7:30 in the f**king morning, when we would get breakfast and return in time for the 8am showing of the strangest fucking cartoon to watch when stoned and severely lacking sleep: The F**king Samurai F**king Pizza Fucking Cats. The creators of this show must have been severe crackheads to come up with this crazy f**king shit.
Pretty cool mechs, probably inspired a lot of the 90s Power Rangers craze. Good or bad? Don't know but those super moves were insane! Don't judge the show if you haven't watched it!
As I heard from other viewers Speedy got Polly at the end of the series, this made me upset that the fact the matter is both Speedy & Guido ridiculed poor Polly & everything she did, so why does Speedy get Polly? In fact most shows & series pair up couples that they think are good when it really isn't a good pairing so let them stay single. And that is my two cents worth.
The series ended! There were like 52 episodes and then it was over and Speedy and Polly finally started to show something there! I think they should get the writers back and make new episodes. There are millions of SOS (Save our Samurai) petitions out there. More people should e-mail Fox Family or Cartoon Network and try to get the show back.
