You know, I never even heard of this show until lastweek. I was on youtube checking out footage on JUST THE TEN OF US and it led me to some footage of this show. By what little I've seen and from what I read on WIKIPEDIA, this show could've & probably would've been one of my favourites from the 1990's.
I hope one day they will release it on DVD, so I can see first hand if it was as great as I think it may have been!!!
Mann, it's crazy discovering a cool show a decade after its gone. Oh well, better late than never.
I absolutely loved Savannah and was really sorry that it ended so abruptly.
I remember it was all the talk in the UK town that I live in. I feel that if the DVD was produced people here would buy it. I am certainly always reminded to check whether there is DVD of it made, whenever I see the word Savannah mentioned on the Internet in any context.
NEVER jumped. This was my intro to George Eads which I am totally greatful for. LOVED this show. Why is it not on DVD yet?
Like one of the above posters said, the actors they chose for this show were terrible. Worst..Southern..accents..EVER! Being raised in Savannah, that made it even worse for me. There was no way I could ever stomach this show.
What a wonderful, wonderful show... The best thing ever to come of Spelling.
Two words: Jamie Luner. Since this Aaron Spelling-produced mishmash (oh, by the way, no primetime "soap" has successfully launched since Spelling's "Melrose Place" back in 1992. Thought you'd like to know), Luner has also successfully eclipsed "Melrose Place", "Profiler" (Ally Walker NEVER should have walked),and as a Special Guest Star, the fun "That's Life" (grrrrr.......). Maybe Luner ought to do just film work from now on?!?.....
I will admit that I never really did follow the show. But by the end of the season I had a pretty good idea of what was going on. The finale of the first season kind of left you in a little shock, excited to see what was going to happen when the show returned. I mean you had "Travis" resurface(or so you thought) and whats her names mother pointing a gun at the other chicks father. Plus, the other girl was kidnapped. The whole "How can that be Travis?" situation and "Will she shoot the dad?" event left me excited for the 2nd season. Of course, once the show actually did return for the second season I think they took the easy way out and didnt try to create a more interesting approach to these two angles. For one thing, into the first 5 minutes or so we are told that it's Travis twin brother! WHOA! That was shocking! Then later we find out that the girls mom's gun was never even loaded! Talk about let down! I think once the first episode of the second season was shown thats when it jumped.
I can't believe you people actually LIKED this crap! First of all, why didn't they get authentic southern actors and actresses for this show? Heck, I've heard Yankees with more Southern sounding accents than these goons! Second, having a dead body as the focus of your pilot episode only works if the name of your show is "Twin Peaks"! I'm so glad that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" drove its stake right into the heart of this show!
This show was the best show on T.V. I made a point never too miss an episode and I would never do that for any other show. It should NOT have been cancelled!
After it was revealed that Lucille killed Travis. The murder trial was what carried the show through the first season. After that, it had no story. It didn't pick up again until the "wedding" between Tom and Reese (really Payton in disguise. By then it was too late.
Never should've been cancelled - this was a great show.
It never jumped, and i still can't understand why it was canceled. I LOVED THAT SHOW!!!!!!
