hey for those of you old-school scooby doo fans i got great news if you don't own scooby doo where are you? on dvd. for some odd reason, cartoon network is rerunning the show every weekday at 6pm along with what's new scooby doo at 6:30pm. And on saturday afternoons, i think they're still showing the new scooby doo movies which basically came after where are you? as hour-long episodes with guest stars instead of half-hour episodes. man id never thought cartoon network would consider showing a classic or two cuz the other day i saw them show an hour and a half of tom and jerry. NOT the new, corny one they're showing on cw4kids but the original MGM one from like the 40's or 50's so tune in to that if you're a big fan of the famous cat and mouse team. i think they're doing this cuz boomerang stopped rerunning those shows or they probably got a lot of letters from viewers demanding them to show a classic every now and then cuz they can't get boomerang on their cable. If that's the case, then keep writing those letters so i don't have spend like seventy dollars to get a scooby doo where are you dvd set at the mall!!!
It would be interesting to see Scooby-Doo
and the Funky Phantom actually meet up.
For ONCE, the SD gang meeting
a REAL ghost!
It jumped when they decided to make a Scooby-Doo movie, but then changed their minds and made a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie but with the Buffy Gang dressed like Scooby-Doo characters and using Scooby-Doo names.

God, what the hell were they THINKING?

(by the way: Buffy the Vampire Slayer jumped at day one because it was a HORRIBLE show).
all my life i have loved scooby doo, and unlike other people, i loved the series like the all new scooby doo movies, in fact, the 13 ghosts of scooby doo and scooby doo's all star laugh olympics are my faves! I loved scooby dumb and dee and all of shaggy's whacky uncles! Plus, anyone who thinks shaggy smokes dope LEAVE THE ROOM NOW!!! I love that beatnik, probably because he is alot like me, big appetite, afraid of everything and heck, a hippy! I love all the scooby doo movies, ESPECIALLY scooby doo and the reluctant werewolf! Although there are a few reasons I think scooby doo jumped the shark:
-Shaggy can't sing, as much as i love that song, i cringe everytime i hear it
-A pup named scooby doo; WTH were they smokin when they invented that sh*t?
-Scooby doo goes hollywood; the only scooby film you will never get me to watch, this movie is complete and utter buIIocks!!It just made shaggy look evil!
-shaggy and scooby doo get a clue, WTF? you CANNOT call that scooby doo, its SH*T!!!
-SCRAPPY FLAMING DOO; yes most of my faves contain him, but just like any other of you i just want to dip that mangy mutt in a pool of acid and record his screams to play over and over again!
oh and to all those who mock the latest movies I LOVE THEM

interesting fact; everytime we watch Ahoy scooby doo one of my brother's teeth fall out, weird huh?
Scooby Doo jumped with most of the guest-star episodes, which were not at all creepy and had little camp value. Don Adams? Dick VanDyke? Maybe if I needed a quick fix for insomnia..I loved creepy and campy later episodes like Harum-Scarum Sanitarium and The No-Faced Zombie Chase Case and High Rise Hair Raiser. My all-time favorite is The Ghost of the Bad Humor Man. Never should have messed with a good thing by introducing that lame-ass puppy!
Scooby Doo always had one major problem; the reaccuring plots!
So they came up with hundreds of spin-off shows and movies, and none of them could hold a candle to the good old Haunted House or island, spooky ghost or monster, Scooby and Shaggy getting the munchies, chase scene with a groovy 70's tune, unmask the villan, solve the mystery, 'Scooby Dooby Doo'!
At the time it seemed to need a change, but looking back it shold've been left as it was!
To "Steve Farrell" Scooby-Doo 9despite the listing) came out on September 13,1969. That being well said I agree with his comments. And "courtney" ..if it rox your cold sox awf then it rox your little ole sox off!:)
scooby jumped the shark when they changed the origional theme song,it was bad enough that they redid the origional.
Loved the first Scooby Doo movie, which had Scrappy Doo as a villain! Hilarious! The sequel sucked, as did the cartoons in which Scrappy appeared. Scrappy is perhaps the BIGGEST reason Hanna-Barbera itself jumped the shark, since the company folded in the mid-1990s and became absorbed into the Time Warner umbrella.
Crappy Doo was annoying, (parodied perfectly in Scooby's 2002 movie(which sadly sucked), but I don't think he killed it. Scooby probably jumped around the late 90's, when all these god-damn remakes started, However, some where good, like 'WHAT'S NEW, SCOOBY DOO?', & the Johnny bravo crossover has to be one of the funniest things in history. But all these other crappy ones, like 'SCOOBY DOO (2002)' pretty much sucked, (mentioned above) and these animted 'straight to DVD and VHS' things got annoying, and just about seem like their only in it for the money.
Even though I grew up in the 90's, I watched probably every episode of the "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?" show. I can say that's the only incarnation that I like because it has little-none teeny bopper crap music crap, and had NO SCRAPPY DOO. I don't know if it was the annoying voice, or the vast contrast between him and Scooby/Shaggy that made me HATE Crappy Doo.
I didn't pay much attention to Scooby Do when it first came out in 1968 because I was already 14 and past the cartoon stage. I only started watching the program when I was working in Saudi Arabia, and I could get it on the Cartoon Netwok (one of 2 English-speaking stations in Dhahran). I was charmed by it's cool story-lines and the silly dialogue. However, when I got back to the States I was able to see the later versions of Scooby Doo and I didn't much care for them. I think the show jumped the shark when the producers began to put the teeny-bopper-bubble-gum music on the soundtrack to enhance the action. It's worse than listening to the Monkees, Andy Kim or David Cassidy. However, even with all of the later reditions the story-lines and animation are generally eye-catching.
Best image I get to sum this up is one of the last segments of one of their show's theme songs... where Scooby and Shagy cling to each other for dear life at the sound of "Scrappy Dappy Doo!!!"
Scooby jumped when they added canned laughter, lame guests (Cass Elliot, Don Adams, 3 Stooges....), & when they changed the theme from "...Scooby dooby doo, where are you?..." to "...scooby, scoobady doo.."
how come scooby talked like "ruh-roh!" like a DOG, but scrappy could talk normally? fully articulating "PUPPY POWERRR!"
god, that dog was annoying.
