It "jumped" the first episode.

And hello? Hello! I'm sorry, but I thought that an entire episode about a minor with an exaggerated penis was not only extremely uncomfortable to watch, but it was also a potentially criminal concept what with the undeniable sexual-predator implications of the episode's premise.
I can absolutely, positively say with utter certainty that the "Little Donny" episode written by Matt Walsh was inspired by real-life events. My wife Denise and I worked with Matt years ago. Great guy.

One odd thing: The guy hated the elderly. I mean he absolutely hated them.

Never really understood that.
This falls in the category of "Wet Hot American Summer" as a spectacularly awful show that people feel they're SUPPOSED to laugh at, rather than actually BEING funny. There's not one bit in the show that couldn't be created by ANYBODY on the street. I suppose their good standing with the comedy cognoscenti comes from the fact that they have a THEATER EVERYONE PERFORMS AT!! Matt Walsh and the other guy not named Matt have ABSOLUTELY NO COMIC PRESENCE OR TIMING WHATSOEVER.
My opinion: This show is terrible. A day one jumper. They try to be the complete opposite of Saturday Night Live and Mad TV. The problem: Although the situations are odd, everyone is either UNDERacting or OVERacting. They have no exuberance. It's like the actors have flattened out their emotions. Skip this show. The acting and comedy are so awful and forced and the situations are so boring, it can put you in a bad mood.
There are 3 TV episodes I've seen in my life that are the funniest I've ever seen. 'Spaghetti Jesus' was one of them. The other 2 are 'The Public Domain' from NewsRadio, where Phil Hartman played the piano and sang political songs, and the Mr. Show episode where the Founding Fathers designed a flag that people wouldn't be able to sh*t on. I can't decide which of the 3 is best. Upright Citizens Brigade probably produced the most laugh-out-loud moments of any show I've ever seen. Luckily there's a complete torrent to download now. Get it while you can.
Never Jumped! The best episode was the one with the jeans ad being pumped into outerspace. When the dolphins come back and all the people at the town meeting are like "Did you come to get your dolphin brothers?" and the lead dolphin goes "No we left those retarded dolphins back on Earth years ago, we just want some jeans." I probably butchered that quote but it was f**king awesome. One last word..... "Humans Rule! Dolphins Suck It!!!!"
One of the best sketch shows to hit the waves. The brilliance of the integration of the threads in each show is without a doubt a shining diamond in the tiara of comedy. I urge everyone to listen to the commentary on the Season 1 DVD for a little insight into their genius.
At one point, the writers phased out the segments with the actual brigade in their headquarters, relegating them to dialog-free transition bumpers to other skits. They used to be some of the funniest bits of the show.
This show.... it just wins. Without a doubt, the funniest thing I ever witnessed. Once, myself and a buddy tried to memorize the skit with Cossack and Smarty, but we couldn't cuz we kept laughing. Easily, EASILY, better than SNL ever was. As for what these people are doing right now? Well, Matt Walsh is a struggling actor right now. He has bounced around from the Daily Show to commercials to some stand up on Conan. The actress that played Colby was in "Deuce Bigelow Male Gigolo" and spent some time on SNL, but I'm not sure if she stayed on the cast. To my knowledge, none of the UCB members that were on the show have gone back to the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre in New York city. It is possible that Adair went back to it as he has done absolutely nothing since then. I still quote him in the Color-Blind skit by standing up and claiming that I've been pussy-whipped and am ten times worse off than anybody else. And the Titte Brothers? Easily the most quotable performers of all time. This show could talk the talk and walk the cake walk and never would've jumped the shark, even if it went into it's fifteenth season and resorted to doing three consecutive episodes on throwing star porno. It was brilliant.... just brilliant.
UCB is the best sketch comedy show ever produced. They should name a small country after these people. Sketch comedy as a whole jumped the shark when those short-sighted fools at Comedy Central took UCB off the air.
I want to piss on everyone who says "I didn't get it". The skits were amazingly off the wall and funny, and they all blended together at the end seemlessly. Greatest show ever on television.
I'll never forget the Ugly Club, the Time Machine, Little Donny, or the Bucket of Truth. The Astronaut episode is also a gem, and just about everyone has heard of 'The Asspennies Skit' from the Power Marketing episode. >From there it all rolled downhill, however. Don't get me wrong --- I love it all, but after the first season it is only for the sake of the comedians themselves. Every one of them exudes an aura of sheer hilarity; always I was most amazed (and amused) by the copious use of facial expressions and body language in their sketches. Colby's accusatory stares. Antoine's sneers. Adair's grimaces. Trotter's smirks. Love 'em, sad to see 'em go, but it just seemed to me that they ran out of inspiration after Season 1.
This is undoubtedly the funniest show ever, I've never laughed so hard in my life. Every episode from Bucket of Truth "Why do we need a 'Hot Chicks Room'?" "Honey, you said the same thing about the microwave and look how much we use that sucker!" to Thunderball "We'd rather have a gun in the outfield than under a mattress where a child could get to it" Is the funniest thing ever. UCB is one of the greatest TV shows ever. UCB rules, dolphins can suck it.
Never jumped. The third season was not as funny as the other two, but there was no one defining sucky moment.
NEVER JUMPED! DAMN THAT INFERNO COMEDY CENTRAL! why in gods name do they take off good shows and put on re-runs of stupid un funny people or re runs of SNL. UCB is the best show ever. COMEDY CENTRAL SUCKS cartoon network is funnier then them and they know when they have funny stuff un like comedy central death to them!
