When Chuck Norris jumps into the pool, he doesn't get wet. The water gets Chuck!
why do people always moan chuck norris and co it was good while it lasted its only a tv program
Reruns appear dated and inspire absolutely no sense of nostalgia. Even when it aired ages ago, it was still dull. This along with Matlock continue to rot on weekdays. On the plus side, it's low on gore and lascivious behavior.
Remember the 1994 WTR episode Stolen Lullaby????
Someone please tell me!!! Ireally wanna know!!!! Inform me!!!
Any Conan O'Brian fans here? I never watched this Walker show, but I did see clips on Conan. That was the funniest thing ever. Conan would take clips out of there context and show them. On their own, they were really good.

I think Mr. Norris understands.
WATCHING WALKER OPEN UP A CAN OF WHOOP AS@ ON EVERY JERK IN THE SHOW THAT WEEK MADE UP FOR ANY LAME PLOT LINES. CHUCK IS GOD!!!

As both a native Texan and Texas Ranger historian, I can say overall this series was very well done and enjoyable entertainment. A number of the scripts were somewhat far fetched, but they managed to keep the show fresh throughout its entire run, which is a rare accomplishment for most long running prime-time television series. I am grateful that Chuck and crew devoted so much effort to bringing the Ranger legend to television. Keep in mind people associated with production of Hawaii 5-0, another series which portrayed a State Bureau of Investigation Organization, have remarked there was never that much crime or that number of harsh criminals really in Hawaii during the time that series aired, and to an extent the same can be said for Texas, even though Texas is a much larger state than Hawaii, with a considerably larger population. When additional characters were brought in during later seasons, I think that actually enhanced the scripts and allowed for more storyline/plot development, which allowed episodes to feature more in-depth situations. And the series definitely had some comic touches to it at times, too, which is something most police/detective oriented programs often lack.
Look closely during fight scenes... half the time it's not even Chuck Norris, it's a stunt double! I know Norris's martial arts skills have always been a bit overrated, but the stuff he's doing isn't even that difficult... he's just roundhousing extras who have been instructed to just stand there and take it - not move, duck, or counter the kick. And still he's gotta get a stunt double? I understand Chuck's getting on in years, but needing a double to take on what is essentially a training dummy is just weird.

It makes the show even funnier, though. It's kinda like the big fight scene in Billy Jack, where every time Tom Laughlin kicks somebody he turns into a much shorter Chinese man...
When the two new Rangers were introduced in season seven.

Honestly, the first couple of seasons were a good serious sort of cop show, but when it became the "Chuck Norris takes on the entire world one person at a time" show it was just so bad it was great. I mean he fought everybody, from CIA assassins to Irish terrorists to Corporate millionaires to Redneck mountain men, there's not a single group in history Chuck Norris didn't take on in that show. Hell there was an episode where he fought Nazis.

However when the final two seasons came around, things took a very different turn. Gone were the days where Walker would infiltrate yet another gang/mob/terrorist organization with trusty Trivette by his side to take some punches and act as a serious comic relief. Instead they began to focus on two new Rangers, (of course one of them being female) who wound up pretty much taking over the show. Sure Walker still beat the hell out of random people and wasn't afraid of gunning perps down, but now he felt more of a sideshow to the two new Rangers. Most episodes revolved around the two new rangers getting involved in some new conspiracy while Walker played backup or in a Plot B scenario or worse, having a "serious" relationship storyline.

Trivette got it even worse, being relegated to doing deskwork and the occasional snarky comment, while New Male Ranger would dominated the show with his karate that rivaled Walkers, while New Female Ranger offered the joys of going undercover as a waitress yet again. Really it felt like the writers said "Hey lets take the same storylines of the old episodes, but remake them by adding a female character into the mix!"

The worst part was that the storylines became even less developed thanks to the more screentime the new rangers took up. One storyline involved nuclear material being stolen from a military base, which got about a minute of screentime compared to the ten minutes of somewhat related salsa dancing from the new female ranger going undercover.

I loved Walker in a campy sort of way, but the Two New Rangers made the last two seasons a definite lowpoint in a series famed for pretty much entirely being a lowpoint.
Near the end of the run, when they actually started trying to make it campy. The thing that made the early shows classic was how unintentionally dumb they were. But the later episodes, specifically, I'm thinking of a scene where the new chick ranger was fighting this other girl, and the new guy ranger, along with the dude he was fighting, stop to watch the catfight...funny, but it kind of took some of the charm off when they started making fun of themselves.
"nobody doing anything melodramatic other than leaping and punching and chasing each other in cars"
