Actually John returning as Alistair is the most interesting thing on that soap. But think about what it means. It means the producers know they screwed up by getting rid of one of the older actors and had to find a way to bring him back from death. In one sense it's hysterically funny - that the writers & producers are such morons. But it works for me. The day I stop watching is the day they knock off Katherine, by far the most interesting character on that show.

They need an injection of stable marriages, and real home life with real-life problems and challenges. I watched this soap on and off from the first year, so remember the storylines and where Nicki came from etc.

I see today a Korean lady (who it is hinted is Gloria's husband's other wife) appear on the scene. Apparently they are going to neutralize the husband by making him a bigamist. OK, won't be sorry to see him go - that storyline is pathetic and nobody cares anymore whether Gloria goes to jail or not.

But if Gloria marries John's double, that will bring some life back to this badly written melodrama. JT is the only one of the younger actors I give a rip about - but to marry him off to that twit playing Victor's daughter - oh good grief. They have now stuck him in a ridiculous storyline from which he will never recover. The best thing going on that show previously was the chemistry between his character and the gal playing Katherine's granddaughter. And where did Katherine's son go? I loved that guy.

They have really screwed up a pretty good soap. Hope it recovers.

Stick a fork in it already. Y&R is so done. It jumps in little and in big ways every day. The little ways are the story and character inconsistencies and dishonesties perpetrated by incoherent writers on their ever diminishing fanbase. THe big ways are the increasingly ridiculous story lines - the most recently stupid is the John returning as Alistair gambit. This, after resurrecting dead John as a ghost. How will they reconcile Ghost John with Alistair john? The writers have really boxed themselves in on this one and this viewer is not watching the s*** anymore.

There must be a pervert writing for this show, because there is an obses-
sion with young girl/older man roman-
ces:Colleen and J.T., Brittany and the
mobster, Colleen and the professor, and now Lilly and Cane.

By the way Cane should be over forty, because he is the same age that Phil-
lip would have been. That baby switch-
ing mess was ridiculous. If Katherine
wanted to hurt Jill and her cheating
hubby she would have given the baby away without replacing it with another!
Jill was content all these years think-
ing Phillip was her real son and might
never have known he wasn't.

I also preferred the previous actress
who played Lilly. Chrystal Khalil is
talented, but she sounds like a valley
girl. Adrienne Leon was a better fit as Colleen, since she looked like the
actress who played her mother, Tracy.
This Colleen has a billiard ball shiny
round face that makes her look twelve.
Her love scenes with the professor are
disturbing because she looks too young.
The characters' story lines are played
out; they've both had two forbidden ro-
mances that made their fathers angry.

I remember the pinnacle of my disgust
with Y & R. Michael was in court de-
fending Phyllis for the millionth time.
It was to grant her appeal. He said that allowing the footage of her black-
mail of Brad was like a person lying on the railroad tracks, getting hit by a train, suing the railroad , and bringing the severed legs in the court-
room as evidence. That's when I threw
my hands in the air and screamed, "I
can't stand this s*** anymore!!!" That
was the last straw.

I find it amazing that Victoria came out of her coma and is 100% already back at work, has her whole memory back, gets married! Nothing is off limits in soap opera land!

I loved this show in the early 80's! I remember Nikki being a stripper, Nikki being in a cult (led by a cultess leader named Sumiko), and Nikki being stalked by a weird admirer. Does anyone have any of these episodes on video??? I'd LOVE to see them again to relive the glory days of this show!!

I am so sick and tired of Gloria and that whole fiasco. None of it is even anything close to real life . Why can't she be caught for any of the criminal acts she has done. This has been going on entirely too long. She needs to be taken off of the Y/R. It is sickening! Send her to prison or let her die!

The story lines are horrible, and they don't even know how to dress the actors. The Nicki & Victor love/hate story has been going on for ages, and not only could I not care less whether they are married or not, I also don't care about any of the other plot lines, the stupidest being Kevin in love with the woman who tried to murder him, but it's o.k., because the brain tumor made her do it.

The best story line they had going in a long time was McKenzie & JT or TJ or whatever that actor's screen name is. She was a compelling actress, and popular with the viewing audience. The writers lost no time in screwing up the only good story line going on that show. The only really good actress left in my opinion is "Mrs. Chancellor". I'm old enough to remember the first year this program was on the air. That actress is still going strong, even with the bad stuff the writers are putting out these days. Oh, and p.s., HATE the story line about the Australian and the gal he is romancing now, and DOBLE HATE the Paul's long-lost daughter story line - mostly because that actress is really bad in that part, and her part is very poorly written.

I'll bet if we were provided with lists of writing staffs by year, back to the beginning, you could pretty accurately match the decline in the quality of the show to when certain writers left the show. The writing STINKS BIG TIME!

For the most part Jack, regardless of the actor playing him, always got the shaft. If it isn't Gloria getting away with something, it is Victor getting away with something. As far as I am concerned, Victor can be just as bad, if not worse, than Jack. But for some reason, all the people I know seem to cut Victor an awful lot of slack and seem to have far more problems with Jack than Victor. IIRC, their was that time when Victor was having a heart attack and Jack just walked out leaving Victor there lying on the floor and Jack never contacted anyone. So from that stand point, I do understand why Jack is considered a really heartless bad dude, but Victor is no saint either.

why is it jack is paying for his mistakes and not gloria.when is she going to jail,she gets away with everything, know one likes gloria make her vanish.

I have been watching this show for over 20 years.If victoria don,t wake up soon,Or die or something i will not be watching young&restless.I am so sick and tired of this plot of her in a comma come on how hasn,t heard this before.Young&restless sucks large right now.Unhappy Viewer that watches coranation street now and it is better cause when somthing happens,it doesn,t take forever &forever &forever if you no what i mean.Thankyou for listening yvonne

Many, many years ago, at one point, Paul had a sister on this soap. I don't know what ever happened to that character. If she ended up being one of those fade away characters like one of the Chuck's on Happy Days, then that was when it jumped for me.

I believe their was another jumping point later on when Victor got shot with a spear gun and supposedly his little swimmers would no longer swim. Clearly, that was just a temporary problem because Ashley much later on stole a bottle of Victor's little swimmers.

I can't believe that Nikki wants to run the risk of losing her own daughter. It is sad that Victoria has had bad luck with having children but she could always adopt, even though if Victoria & JT do adopt it will not have Newman blood but at least she will have a child.

JT hit it right on the head when he told Brad that all he cared about was the baby. He does not care about Victoria as Brad says that he and Sharon are the "real" couple. Sharon told him that she doesn't want him anymore. So he is out in the cold.

When they got rid of Adrianne Leon and Davetta Sherwood those two were perfect for the roles of Colleen and Lily. Tammin and Kristel suck they are boring to watch and act like two high school girls who are suppose to be in college. Adrianne and Davetta brought maturity to those characters and would not act like high school retards.

Its kind of hard to believe that so many victims of the Clear Springs explosion walked out with hardly a scratch on them no serious injuries besides Noah and Victoria. Why didn't Katherine Chancellor have any major injuries, come to tell me that rocks and cement are falling on you and don't suffer injury besides dirt on your face and clothes. I was expecting some fatalities but only got one from a person not really involved in the storyline. Why couldn't they kill off David Chow and get rid of Brad so Sharon can stop leaning on him so much.
