I'm glad its been cleared up that Jimmy Boy (of Bachelor Father)is not the same guy who played Crank on the Electric Company (it seemed 100% impossible for a human to change that much in 11 years). Yeah, Freeman rocked here on TEC but so did Rita Moreno and Skip Hinant(sp?). Freeman was really a better comic actor than dramatic! And I liked Moreno's pretty look best by far in season one!
Julie was the only reason I watched the show as a child....

Wow, another craptacular show from PBS. The only show I liked on PBS as a kid was Sesame Street. IMO, The Electric Company kids show: SSSSSSSSS + tunk = Stunk
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this growing up. But who knew that my future favorite actor (Morgan Freeman) was in it?! Wow!!
HOW THE HELL HAS THIS CLASSIC NOT BEEN ON TV FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS? MILLIONS OF KIDS HAVE REALLY MISSED OUT.
Jim boyd is not the person who sang "I saw mommy kissing santa claus". That was JIMMY Boyd a completely different person.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Boyd

As stated here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Boyd_%28actor%29

Boyd is often confused with Mississippi-born Jimmy Boyd, singer of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," who was also an actor. Despite having separate IMDb entries, these two actors' filmographies are still combined—although to a lesser degree than before.
Someone asked about the 2nd verse to "I Like Fish Food..." I love that song too, and the 2nd verse goes something like this: "Stop--and--go--and--dance--a--dance...all--the--way--from--here--to--France. Day--and--night--all--bright--and--new...Left--is--right--and--I--LOVE--YOU!" (not sure about the last line, but I THINK it's "left is right")

I love this show too! We used to watch it in 4th grade.
Love of Chair who could forget that one!!!
MUH-OR-GUHN FREE-MAN!
MOR-GAN FREE-MAN!
MORGAN FREEMAN!
Morgan Freeman!!!!!Yeah!

Easy Reader rocked! But while watching "Driving Miss Daisy" i kept expecting Hoke to overenunciate everything.
MY FAVORITE WAS SPIDEY SUPER STORIES!HE FOUGHT SOME CRAZY VILLIANS.THE BEST WAS "THE WALL" & "THE SPOILER"!CLASSIC STUFF!
Does anyone remember when Rita Moreno dresses up as a little girl and gets hit with a pie?
This show was WONDERFUL! I'm so glad they came out with it on DVD.:-D It brings back a lot of good memories watching it. The DVD company put out two volumes of TEC (at separate times,of course.) I gave Volume 1 to my niece who was 6 at the time. She LOVED it! (Her favorite part was "It's the plumber..I've come to fix the sink!"
And now get this, true believers....;) :
There'll be a NEW version of TEC in 2008! (I read this on another website.)
It's so AMAZING how many kids that grew up with TEC say the same things about how the show used to scare them (or in our childhood lingo, "it freaked me out"). As an adult, I had the strangest compulsion to re-watch all of the things that scared me from this show. For so many years I thought I'd never be able to watch old episodes but now of course the "Best of" series has been released on DVD.

One of the most terrifying segments in my memory was the "STEADY FREDDY" jazzy animated bit about a kid who loved scary movies. But it was the animation style that horrified me. And a buck-tooth ghoul sitting next to Freddy in the theater who stands up during the song to ad-lib "Steeaaadeeee Fredddd!!!". The way that ghoul moved and the sound of his shriek never left my mind over the years. It also goes without saying that the cartoon "Oh golly a lollipop is following me" really scared many kids.

But I digress - this site is about shows that jumped the shark, right? The Electric Company NEVER did and was cool in a way that Sesame Street never could have been (no offense).
