I just love this show. Look forward to watching every week. Love all the characters too. My other favorites that were cancelled also were "Homefront" and "Moonlighting" I would love to see Homefront on DVD. So far, nothing. Thanks.
I love this show for lots of reasons, however it has it's problems. I love that the characters are exactly my age, and in the same period of their life, and that they are still in their hometown. I grew up in a town kind of like that, and I'm moving back soon. I like the complex storylines and deep characters. You feel each one of them, and they've all got problems. It has a few beautiful people (Eddie LaTeca, be still my heart) but have you noticed how real most of the characters are? Phil, Janet, Owen--these are not super-beautiful actors, they are the people you remember from high school.
The biggest complaint I have is the dialogue. Oh, my god, so over-done. It reminds me of Dawson's Creek, another show I loved but could barely stand to listen to. Great plot...bad dialogue. Too contrived, it would work as a novel but no one talks like that.
Why is this piece of drivel still on tv? They needed a vehicle for the '70's show gal? First off, her gift is not drama, it's comedy. She is terribly miscast here.

The rest of the problem - actually most of the problem - is the storyline and weekly writing. This thing is awful and should have "gone away" a looooong time ago. Yeah, actors, I know your paychecks are at stake - but this show stinks, & I mean REALLY stinks.
This show has never jumped! I love this show. Its very un predictable. I think its a show for young people mainly in their late twenties. This is the show where we can relate to charaters. These characters are either pieces of us, or people we know or people we knew in highschool. I am very addicted to this show. There needs to be more shows like this one.
I like the show for the simple fact that its just all over the place. I normally wouldn't like this type of show. Its like a car wreck on the side of the road, and every rubber necker can't keep thier eyes off the mangled mess. For that alone I actually love this show. it's like every taboo in show history was combined and put in this show. Ask your self this, the weird guy that doesnt step outside has a hot girlfriend that totally is understanding. A love triangle. A guy that looks a bit like Shrek, gets cheated by his smoking hot wife, with his goffy broke lost bestfriend, a dad dying of cancer, the not so flattering guy with the guy that looks like he was QB of thier high school, a guy that likes a girl with an estranged father, and a kid who no one seems to know who is the real father. Like I said every taboo in one show. Love it!
This may be the worst show on television. And because of this I can't stop watching. Every storyline is rediculous. A "shut-in"?! Dude that gets every hot chick in town is now with the fat chick?! The tour of places your wife cheated with your best friend?! I love it! I watch more bad shows that I find hilarious than good shows.
Could barely stand to sit through this self-concious and sentimental glop. It's sort of like they made a TV show based on Beautiful Girls - a lot of people liked that movie, and with Grey's Anatomy being one of the top-rated shows, we'll be stuck with shows like this. Shows in which the population looks to have been cloned from a J-Crew *******, where the dialog is artificially cute, where people seem to have a bottle of beer in their hand every other minute (if only to fuel stupid plot twists like breaking into somebody's office to read the unpublishable novel of a girl you're not even interested in), and where the meaningful scenes have that moving pop song in the background.
I'm torn as to my opinion of this show. The concept is great and reminds me of some of the things I did in high school, things I wish I would have done differntly, and what it would be like for me to get a second chance at getting them right.

However, what hurts me about this show is the apparent lack of forethought that was put into the writing of it. It was as if ABC thought, "Well, we don't have anything else to try, so let's run this one up the flagpole." Turns out people liked it and the producers hit panic mode. "What do you mean you only have the pilot written? America loves this show - get me four more episodes NOW!" The last three or four episodes are painful to watch because they are so poorly written. Ray Cataldo (I think that's his name) is nothing more than a thirty-year-old 4th grade snitch. If you want a bad guy, make him believable, for crying out loud!

It's a good thing ABC didn't try to force this show to be ready for this fall. I'll give it two episodes when it comes back and if it isn't markedly improved, I'm done with it. What a shame. It's a great storyline, but October Road may have already started up the ramp.
Where'd it go!? This show was awesome! I looked forward to seeing the new season all summer & now its not on!
Killer show. Some of the stuff written about it almost sounds like people that stumbled over it one night by accident and then decided to rip it because it had a different formula. Also, the comment about "grown-ups playing air-guitar", makes no sense at all. This was from the first episode and the characters were all in high school at the time. I looked at my high school graduation tape the other day, believe me, we all acted that stupid. That scene was very real. Anyone that liked the movie "Beautiful Girls" should love this show. Also, any look at the ABC web-site, will prove it has not been canceled.
I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH AND CANT WAIT UNTIL IT RETURNS AND YES I WAS SITTING ON THE EDGE OF MY SOFA NO FUTON;)
This is a great show, and it has not been cancelled. If you watched the last episode it was the SEASON FIANLE! It will be coming back, I think in August.
I don't know if this show will be coming back, but it should! There were only a small number of episodes on tv and they are still on ABC's site; but I hope it does return. The TV networks today are all jumping the shark! They play a couple of episodes of a show and then yank it off the air!! It is ridiculous!!!
X-( i loved this show where did it go. I'm very upset that it showed a couple nights then buff its gone. bring it back sooner then later.
Where did it go? Was it based on The Book of Joe?
